I'm shocked at Phil's twitter stuff I am so excited to see what comes next, even if it's nothing in particular, cause usually you change pics/header quickly because you know what you want. Oh well, can only wait.

The tall girl story was so touching. I feel her pain but on the opposite spectrum. Nobody ever takes me seriously, sometimes not even maintaining eye contact and just stare over my head. I know that being short is more common than being tall but it just goes to show that insecurity comes no matter your background and what's important is to own it, regardless of what it is, lack of height or too much height.

I believe that pot of plant is on a table because of the wooden surface. I think their house is carpeted right? Maybe Phil bought a similar plant but a mini version and we just can't see it yet because he didn't put anything else as scale.

Kind of interesting because before premium messages and top fans were a thing, I don't remember Dan or Phil really paying attention to the premium gifts people sent them. Now they hardly answer questions from the chat and mainly read out premium messages. Plus they're always sure to read out the top fans at least once.

Do you think younow suggested that they interact with these features more, or do you think D&P started using them because they needed the extra cash?

He is very obviously in Dan's room, as you can see the same background behind the TV in the photo of Dan's room.



Now, after this, he leaves his 'hotel room' to go to Dan's, meaning they most definitely ate breakfast together, as the top of the surface that his plate of pancakes is on is the same as the desk in Dan's hotel room.

6500 bars is $50, but the top fans are giving 100,000+ bars. In order to get that many you would have to buy the $50 packages over and over, since there in no real way to buy in bulk. So I looked it up and apparently its relatively easy to hack the site to get bars, or buy them much cheaper from china farmers lol. Which means they could be making 0 money from all the fake bars. I feel like if people were actually giving them thousands of dollars each week they would make a much bigger deal out of it. Instead its just some casual mentions and from Dan certainly a lot of sass and eyerolls for donators. Makes me think they aren't really making much.

I was shocked at the difference because I thought that even if there was a difference in views, it wouldn't be that big seeing as most of those who watch the liveshows are more than casual fans of Deppy. I'd just like to hear people's thoughts on this. If it's been brought up before, please just ignore this.

IDK I think they both get around 20k viewers per show these days, so it sounds like a past problem.

But even if 6500 bars were bought by the fan or $1, does YouNow still give Dan/Phil $50? A bar is a bar, I don't think it matters how the fan bought it, if that's its value then that's probably what Dan/Phil get.

It's for sure a board of some type. Color swatching the wall then below the green line in photoshop has it show two different colors. If below the green wasn't a board, then it would've been the same color as the wall.

Dan's I nearly blinded myself video: I LOVED IT. It made me so happy that he did such a good video with the sketches and the story telling. It was so good i could have cried. I loved Phil's over the top acting and Dan over the top everything.

Phil's quizzes video: it turns out Phil's video was cute. Phil IS cute. He is watchable, he is likable, he is kinda entertaining.

One thing that I really really dislike in Phil's video was his way of talking tho.
You can look enthusiastic without looking/sounding like the duracell rabbit on crack.

I'm kinda confused by your argument and would like to understand it better. This is why: If you look at what I bolded you will see that you contradict yourself. "I loved Phil's over the top acting and Dan's over the top everything" and then later you criticize Phil on his "way of talking" because it's "like the duracell rabbit on crack." I'm confused about what else "over the top" could mean. It also seems like you're okay with Dan being energetic but not Phil. That also confuses me.

No i don't contradict myself. I meant dramatic over the top in Dan's video. Like Phil's acting is bad and dramatically over the top just as Dan makes everything in that anecdote 10 times more dramatic than it was already with the way he talks and explains it. It fits the video, it makes it fun. Dan making every small detail of something happening super dramatic even when it is not necessarily is not a new thing. He does it all the time, sometimes it is annoying but in this case i think it worked.
Also I don't have anything against either of them being energetic. As I said, I understand they both have to hype themselves up and appear more energetic on camera than irl. (and not only them, every youtuber).
Phil's version in the quizz video, in the creepy doll video and in fact in any recent video where he is alone (granted not that many) is not energetic/enthusiastic anymore though he is well beyond that. For me it's downright creepy and appears so fake. It appears like he learnt his whole speech by heart and recites it without taking any breath and without thinking any of it. It doesn't make me feel like he talks to me, tells me about his day/anecdotes whatever. It freaks me out and i hate it. And as I said, when he is in video with other people or in his liveshow, he is still presenting an energetic/enthusiastic version of himself but not to the point he looks like an eversmiling robot on crack.

So all this made me come to the conclusion, that you know I like Phil, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, he is Dan's bud, he is nice to his fans... but I don't get Phil at all. I don't understand him or his persona, I don't understand what he does on youtube, I don't understand how he can be so satisfied with the content he does
So i will keep being confused but honestly I have to laugh when I keep reading comments on youtube or tumblr that whine Phil "deserves" more subscribers or "Phil is so original and creative".

Please explain how Dan is any better.

1st I think it is kinda funny and telling that you have to take whatever criticism I said about Phil and bring it back to Dan. Like yeah "I thing the state of Phil's channel is kinda sad" but "DAN! look at Dan his videos are bad too! let's criticise dan!!"
To be clear, it is not because I specifically criticized Phil in my message because I got that shock/revelation watching his latest video, that I think Dan is perfect and his channel is flawless etc. But considering you asked, here is my opinion only (and only 2016 videos).

I have actually the kinda same number of videos that I found good or ok on both of their channels but with more videos on Phil's and also with the fact nearly all of Phil's video include Dan. You say they frequently do collabs with each others on their channel but I disagree, Phil has Dan in 7 videos, Dan has Phil in the blinded myself video (and as an actor, not really as a collab) and on the Tatinof trailer. The fact they both have vloggy videos is true but honestly I don't see any similarities between their vloggy videos in the execution and I don't see why because I loved Dan's last video, I should love Phil's (recent) vlogs that are nothing like it and are also imo very inferior not necessarily in their idea/the story told but in their execution.

I'm not trying to say their content is identical, because obviously it's not, but I feel like their content is in the same genre or on the same plane. I fail to see how Phil's content is less original, less creative, less entertaining, less deserving of views than Dan's. You seem to be speaking as if it's obvious how different they are when you just take a look, however when I took a look I found that they were even more similar than I had originally thought when you think about them objectively. Maybe it's Phil's personality that you dislike, but you claim to think he's "nice" and you dislike it when he yells. As I already said Dan yells a lot (i would argue more than Phil) so I'm really failing to see the fact behind your argument. Your opinion is of course not wrong, however I disagree with the points you made and I'm therefore confused about why you feel like Phil is so much less deserving than Dan.

I disagree i still think their solo videos are very different and especially in their execution and watching at their 2016 videos I really fail to see how you think their videos are so similar. Also I never said in my post that I found Dan's content more original, creative... more deserving of views than Phil. Once again, I never said that. I never actually spoke of Dan in my post. You are the one making that comparison.
And yeah I don't think Phil's videos are creative or original, I do often find them entertaining though. As for Dan I agree, I don't think they are that creative or original either. I would argue that the execution of his ideas are recently more creative and better done than Phil. But i never read everywhere "Dan is so creative and original he deserves more subs" because we all know it's not really true, I read it constantly about Phil and for this I completely disagree. I don't think Phil is creative or original on youtube, he was once upon a time but he really is not now.
One thing also, I don't agree with the concept of someone "deserving" more subs or not. Like people subscribe to your channel if they like your content enough, this whole thing like Phil or Dan or Gertrude deserves more subs is alien to me I find it silly because people can like and subscribe and do whatever they want, there is no deserving there.

About the yelling I am confused. I never said I dislike when Phil yells. I am not even sure I have ever seen him yelling in a video? But I don't dislike when Dan yells either generally, so I think there was a misunderstanding. Phil yelling doesn't bother me. It is his fake ultra energetic/enthusiastic/bright youtuber perfect prototype behaviour I dislike, like in his latest solo vid.

I love love love all the interactions we have now. Twitter, insta, the come back of live shows. It really make a world of difference. Also that avalanche of content is so great! I hope they keep it coming and don't stop for a month again.

If the new content is so great why are you claiming that Phil's is inferior in quality? Your argument led me to believe that you didn't enjoy Phil's new content yet you are celebrating its existence.

yes you are right here. I am happy to have more content back because even if I dislike/criticize it, it entertains me first watching it but also reading about it here for ex. There are also always small parts or snippets that I do enjoy, even when I find the overall quality of the video disappointing. With more content there is also more chance to have a video that I like. And finally it is also more interaction in general with them across all their media that makes me excited.

as everyone mentioned, i'm so sad to see the radio show end. i think dan will probably mention it in his ls today? last week he read a question about the radio show and pulled a face, so i think today he will probably answer another question about it, hopefully with more detail.
i'm all for phil rebranding but i honestly doubt the fringe is going anywhere yet. also i thought it was strange he removed his header and bio with nothing to replace it.
