I only watched the vid once last night and while I think I enjoyed it overall, I couldn’t handle the cringe omg. I had to keep pausing and I was honestly sweaty by the end. It was a whole ordeal, but my stress levels were high yesterday so I think I’ll do better trying a rewatch later today. But I really loved a moment early in the vid where Dan guessed PJ wrote an answer and PJ did an adorable laugh in response like, ‘what? I wouldn’t write that’ and of course it had been Phil. Maybe it was the cereal answer? Whatever, I’m butchering the moment, but it came off as being so sweet to me. Gentle little nerds

okay, so, I had a thought and I wanted to know this for a while and since deppy most likely won't reply to my tweet asking them, y'all will have to discuss with me:
what's their deal with editing gaming videos?
like, who does it? do they take turns editing? is it, "you do all the sims ones and i do all the flash games and you..."? is it whoever just has the most time and/or wants to do it? or do they both edit the videos together, like maybe phil starts but then takes a break and dan takes over, until it's all a big mash of their editing together?
for some reason, the question who makes their editing decisions has become increasingly important to me and i think that we as a fandom can solve it, if we really put our heart and soul into it. i hope i can count on you.

dan listened to five minutes more music on spotify than me this year i'm strangely proud that we were so close??? we also both had toby fox in our top five artists-- the undertale soundtrack is so good to study and nap to.
(I never psoted about the new truth bombs but WOW GREAT even though sophie and pj may as well have been cardboard cutouts for all they contributed)

I actually had this thought last gamingmas. At the time I wanted to know because imo it seemed like Dan left more Phan stuff in the videos and Phil edited more of it out but now that their behavior is so different (and has been for the entire year) I haven’t really analyzed their videos like I used to

I find it incredibly hard to tell. I think their style is very similar. sometimes, they leave something in where the other person was surprised in the video ("you're keeping that in?!"), and then I always think that it probably was the not-surprised person who edited the video.
overall, I kind of always assumed Dan to be editing more (maybe because that's what I've seen people say), but recently they have mentioned Phil editing videos a lot, so I really just don't know anymore

With the who does the editing I always though Dan took on the majority of the gaming video editing because iv seen other YTubers like Louise that have said he’s offered to edit the video for them. And I remember in a live show from back in 2015 he talked about getting someone to help edit the videos but not completely done by someone else. With last gamingmas I thought he did most of the videos but this year it looks like phil has done most of them so far or at least started them. I do think they help both edit them even their videos for the personal channels so they can give constructive criticism. I remember a few weeks ago dan said he was editing phils video and that was the first time I’d heard one of them say about editing each other’s videos and it stuck with me

14 500 minutes... Mine was almost 186 000. i actually got super excited about Chanel being in the top songs :') and I too had Toby Fox in my most listened artists, haha. So yeah, I'm still waiting for Dan to rebrand as the music vlogger dj Daniel Howell, his music talk will always be my favorite part of his ls.
Aaaanyway, how late are they gonna upload, geez. Last night i was fast asleep as they uploaded the Truth bomb #2. Which i liked tho, i really enjoy them playing and I doooo like PJ. The only thing that was bugging me was how tiny Sophie's voice was, and it made her even more invisible in the video. But otherwise, a good vid and I need them to play more board games.

Yeah I remember Dan saying he prefers to edit videos, even other peoples that he is in, because he’s kind of a control freak in that aspect. He just wants to make sure the final product is something that he is 100% okay with. I do think they switch off editing the videos though. When they first started the gaming channel he said that he would edit while Phil made the thumbnails but I don’t think it’s like that anymore.
please no more children
