Dan & Phil Part 9: The most fun we've ever had

I used to give them (mostly Dan) shit in my head for being so awkward about it but I was being massively naive. They're keeping these teenage girls (sometimes younger) at literal arm's length because they're full grown adult men. Throw in the fact many of these girls wanna rip their pants off (and bring in signs calling them 'daddy' *gip*) and its a no-brainer that you're not gonna hug them properly.
I don't know why I didn't see that or assumed they weren't doing it on purpose. Seeing all the shit in the tatinof thread like 'no kissing' etc has clearly opened my eyes. I guess as an older viewer I never thought of it cos if they wanted to press their whole bodies against me I'd be DOWN FOR THAT but that would be ok cos I'm their age.
I actually may be able to watch M&G videos now I can keep this in mind. Previously I'd cringe my neck off at Dan's hugging but knowing its deliberate and justified may just make it bearable

That's the only video springing to mind right now but I'm sure there is at least one other video I've seen where his hugging another youtuber and making hugging look like an all round painful experience.

Well his not wrong about the hug.
He also puts Dan at 6"4 which actually sounds about right if Phil's 6"2 but I don't think Dan himself has ever claimed to be above 6"3. Someone seriously needs to measure that boy.

If someone wants to share some actual question ideas for M&G, I for one would be happy to have them. I have no idea what I'll end up saying, other than possibly suggesting they play "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" because banter under pressure.

A few pages back someone mentioned fans being happy with a 30 second scripted experience - I don't know if "happy" applies, but that's exactly what I expected when I shelled out the money. There will never be a fully satisfying experience of me having a personal conversation with them for hours, and that's fine. Instead, they'll dish out plastered smiles and compliment my t-shirt (which I bought specifically for them to compliment, since there won't be anything else worth remarking on, and I'm benevolent) and sign my stuff, and they won't remember me 30 seconds later. But I won't have any regrets on missing the chance to see them in person, which is what matters to me.

Also - yes, please, death to "daddy" trend. It cannot vanish soon enough.

I'm of no help because I would have no idea what to say, but I'll fully join the campaign to get them to play "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes." I played it with my best friend of 8+ years and it simultaneously brought us closer together and drove us apart haha

EDIT: while it is cute that they always are togheter at yt events I don't find it strange: they are in a place where ,while they have friends, they are more of aquaitances and ,each in his own way, is shy/introvert.So why not stick with the one person you are totally confortable with and that won't leave you. (but then I'm shy and usually stick to the 2/3 people that I feel good with)

I'm genuinely asking - like I've never seen Smosh or any other best friend duos at this kind of thing so idk. I can imagine the answer is 'no' as I certainly don't act that way with my best friend but who knows

And to put the goggles back on, people I *do* see sticking by each other and always sitting together are Jenna and Julien, Josh and Coleen, Melix, Zalfie etc.

Sometimes I feel like its the quietest shit like that which speaks the loudest to me.

Can't speak for anyone but myself, but I totally do that with my best friend. Even hanging out with other friends, I'm still clingy to them. For me, it's an anxiety-security thing. Not to mention that D&P have been like this for so long, that if there's ever even just a picture with one and not the other, everyone goes crazy questioning it.

Also, I just realized that I used to have a best friend I was really close to and everyone always asked if we were dating. We weren't, and she was straight, but literally everyone would keep asking us and no one would accept that we weren't. This is simultaneously amazingly coincidental and awful.

(BTW this post isn't meant to negate them being together, per usual. I'm still phan AF even despite my own perspectives )

And even the couples who do tend to stick together at these YT events aren't completely inseparable. Maybe it's unfair to compare Depples to hetero couples, because it's a bit more normalized for the girl to have her girl friends and the boy to have his bros, but still... damn...

EDIT: I can't even comment on the fact that they are never apart. I'd expect nothing less of them at this point. Dan obviously needs a constant supply of Phil's life force at all times to survive.

Ok just ignore me while I fantasise aloud about my nonexistent M&G experience.

The most important thing is to get Phil's hands on my bare shoulders so I'll have to wear some sort of bustier/corset/boobtube contraption that is age appropriate for a middle-aged nose pervert.

Secondly, a cheeky, rule breaking Dan grope that results in Drake, complete with flower crown, manhandling me, scooping me up into his arms while I thrash around then I stop breathing and they take turns reviving me.

I know for me being a shy extrovert, if I go to events with people I'm comfortable with I'm quiet and cling to that specific group. If I'm forced to go to a thing alone I just hide quietly in the corner and absorb information from everyone's conversations around me So in that way I can totally see those two being joined at the hip
