I can see why he left the names in as a sort of coming out. If he was trying to maintain the privacy of the others, he could have maybe replaced the more unique names with common ones. If he had just used pronouns and blurred the names, people could have doubted him. Hmmm. lots to think about.

So my guess is the house that they're renovating is just taking longer to get done than they expected.
