I really love this video. With all of the negativity that (especially Dan) have been receiving recently its refreshing to hear from someone who actually knows then as people.
I think that Dans "response" to Onion was the best he could do because it realistically wasn't that controversial. He didn't sound angry, just annoyed at click-bait in general. I don't imagine that this drama will last much longer (from Dans side anyway).
Looking forward to Dans new video. Danecdotes are my favourite type of danisnotonfire video, and this one sounds particularly awkward/embarrasing

Onion is delusional if he thinks that tweet about being Dan's fan is gonna earn him any sympathy. We all know he's harassing Dan, not acting like a fan. He completely lacks respect and empathy.
That being said, I'm afraid Dan may be lurking this forum hitting his head against a wall because we've spent so much time talking about onion after he explicitly told us not to, haha. I believe him that it must be frustrating to him to watch his loyal fanbase get their panties in a bunch over something like this. "Namaste."

I really think this all goes back to: Is any publicity good publicity? Is there no such thing as bad publicity?
In reality every time we say the name ‘Onision’, we are spreading awareness about who he is. We are a free advertising campaign for him. People will want to know what is going on so they are going to watch his videos to find out, or talk about him which raises his profile even more, or tell other people about him. This effectively turns Dan and the phandom into a soapbox that gives Onision the oxygen of publicity. He will not die while he is getting views from the phandom over this.
This is not an isolated problem. For example, would Donald Trump be as popular as he is now if people hadn’t talked about him so much? Would Nigel Farage have a support base so big if the media had ignored him instead of discussing how terrible he is all the time?
But Onision is getting bad publicity. Everything Dan said about him is bad. Everything phandom members have tweeted about him is bad. It’s spreading awareness that he is a bad person. When someone tweets that Onision has made jokes about Dan being raped that spreads awareness. People who support Onision who see these things will stop. Those people are not going to be his fans anymore, those people are not going to view any more of his videos after the drama has died, those people are done with him. Talking about how bad Onision is is therefore a good thing, because it will make him lose fans. And if he has no fans, when the drama is over, he will die.
So is any publicity good publicity? Yes and no. I think we all just need to be clear when we are talking about Onision that he is Bad. Grill them onions.

Now THIS is seriously lovely, I've always thought the Green brothers were a blessing to youtube with everything they do and how rationally they speak up about things and on top of that they're always lovely to Dan and Phil AND the phandom. The way they view the whole issue of fandom and speak about it to their large audience resonates very well with me.

This is a lovely and thorough nutshell full of praise for them, their work and how they engage with their audience. I love John Green too, before I became such a DnP stan, he was my favourite Youtuber and vlogbrothers was the only channel I watched regularly (now Deps and the Greens share 4 of my top spaces I guess). That Paper Towns event was so good, I can still remember my joy on seeing Phil's tweet as I was about to head into London that they were hosting it.

A bit offtopic right now but I forgot to talk about it.
In the liveshow, Dan said he didn't like the new Lady Gaga song because she screams so much and it hurts his ears. It is a bit ironic that he screams a lot in DAPG and never think about our ears conditions

All of the above was LOVELY and having watched an old ls the same day, his change in demeanour and move towards self-acceptance is quite tangible and fully glorious. Also makes me about what's gonna go down soon but I've already rambled about that.

It was lowkey less conspiracy-y than i was hoping for what i don't get is, why would they make a fake account to watch each others' live shows? what's the big deal with them watching the others show? youd think theyd need to do it for work to stay in sync with their joint brand. i don't get the controversy watching each others live show would cause. if you have a theory on that maybe your darla theory will make more sense to me the inside joke part sounds plausible to me tho!

Ok, but what theater is that they are performing in? It's not the Hollywood show. Is that where the footage they used in the America Announcement trailer came from? Is it from the England leg of the tour?I feel like it has to be one of the american shows because they are wearing the flag jackets not the gold jackets. I'm so confused.
last edit - I think the first pic is the London Palladium, but the second could be anywhere in america but hollywood, because I'm pretty sure we got the gold jackets for continuity.

Oh no! Well my feedback would be I think that's entirely plausible. Its seems as though they do watch each other's shows and how else they gonna do that without logging in as themselves and causing a complete shitshow? While we're sharing theories, here's an OT one under the cut regarding suit cases, Australian hotel rooms and LIES. Its tin-hatty as fuck. What's wrong with me recently?? Must need another hobby
SO. Remember bedroom-gate in Aus? Well, it busted up my phan goggles for a hot minute but like many of you, on second (and third, fourth, fifth etc etc) watch the beginning is jarring, strangely shot and rushed. But we all know DITLs are scripted to fuck, especially the beginnings. Nothing new to report there.
General consensus seemed to be the room situation was bullshit. Now I personally don't have a problem with that, and get why they did it, but on to the matter at hand...
One of the things I was looking out for when I realised this was Phil's suitcase. You can see Dan's on the suitcase stand and I did wonder where Phil's was hiding if they really did share that room. They wouldn't be daft enough to leave it in there, but where was it hiding?
Then I noticed this:
0:50
Bottom left corner - some blue thing with a label on it. Speculated that it might be a suitcase with a flight label on it, but kept it to myself cos who the fuck knows and felt like I was reaching.
Then comes the HK DAPG vid, where you can see it clearly in the background at various points.
From 0:05 onwards and throughout. Blue suitcase in the background. From the Aus DITL we know Dan's is black so must be Phil's.
Then comes Dan's ls last night where you can see a blue suitcase outside Phil's bedroom door.
So I'm pretty sure that's Phil's suitcase we're seeing for a millisecond in the DITL. Why was it standing closed up in the middle of the room when they had neither arrived nor were leaving the hotel that day? My theory: that's where they hid it. He packed it back up before filming and dragged it into whoever's room next door where he did the 'waking up' scenes so it wouldn't be seen when they filmed in the main room for the rest of the video. The glimpse is so fleeting it wouldn't surprise me if it was missed in filming/editing.
Or like, he really was staying in that room and made a habit throughout the tour to pack his suitcase up each morning and leave it stood in the middle of the room, just to open it back out at the end of the day
Or its not his suitcase and I'm talking shit who tf knows anymore. Not me.
That was a wild ride to write. Warned you it was tin-hatty. I have too much time on my hands.

I lowkey have a theory that his friends are actually SICK of him ranting about music so he is excited about liveshows because he can unleash his inner obnoxious music critic on thousands of fans and nobody will mind

what i don't get is, why would they make a fake account to watch each others' live shows? what's the big deal with them watching the others show? youd think theyd need to do it for work to stay in sync with their joint brand. i don't get the controversy watching each others live show would cause. if you have a theory on that maybe your darla theory will make more sense to me
