I did not expect much more, really, bc Girlfriend magazine is exactly of that calibre (a vapid rag for teenage girls). Robot questions get you robot answers.

Two shows in the next 24 hours and six shows in five consecutive days next week. Glad they're getting the koala-holding times in while they can. Hopefully they'll leave enough energy to enjoy the larger cities as well.

Yes! This is what I thought too. Who is supposed to read/watch these interviews? Anyone who knows deppy, knows these answers. And if they don't know deppy, how is that supposed to make them interested? Buffy? Really? Nothing more current? Or at least more interesting? They need new speech writers, especially Phil. First of all: I agree.

But second, I wonder if they're just really not keen on text-only interviews? I wonder if he'd take more of a risk in a spoken word one? They both opened up nicely in that HuffPo one but since Dan used emoticons I am assuming this was a completely text-based interview, and it's hard to take risks when you know people have no base for judging your tone. Text interviews can also be taken way out of context (for publication, not just the way fans do). I'm talking specifically in how both of them played every question safe, not just Phil.

Phil is more open if it's an actual interview (without Dan interrupting him) especially if it's not about him. I remember their interview with Jimmy. He was really talkative and was fun to watch. I really want to learn more about Phil. I really want to hear/to read nonRobot responses. But I always give him a pass (despite my frustration) because the last time we actually heard/watched what he genuinely feel it was through a YT glitch. Scarred 4lyf. Besides, Dan "over shares" for the two of them any way.

Surprised he mentioned Phil at all though for a question like that.

I'm sorry this whole post is just me being needlessly picky about grammar  I just think if you are employed to write an article for an online magazine, and are writing up an interview with two prominent people, you should be competent enough to not be making these kind of errors.

Re: Phil repeating same things
I feel like he's not lying when he says he's bad at coming up with on-the-spot answers so he repeats things he said before cause it's safer and practical. I think Phil majorly lacks the kind of vanity that motivates you to sound "edgy" and "cool" in interviews (even if it wasn't for a teeny magazine), he just doesn't care. Though he probably did a good job promoting his channel by mentioning the videos he has made. Maybe should get a publicist, it'd make for more exciting interviews and protect them in case of stupid journalists like the one from The Sunday Times.
And the picture of they picked is so good! I believe it's from last year from the times of UK tour judging from their looks.

Eye reflection analysis time: it looks like Phil took the picture of Dan bc of his white t-shirt, but Phil's picture was taken by the koala lol.

maybe Dan picked up a koala suit while they were there and changed into it after his photo. That's why Phil doesn't look as thrilled in his pic, would rather be holding the giant koala taking his picture instead. :gg:

I was actually wondering earlier how likely it is crew will be featured in the documentary. Did we ever see cameras on the merch team doing their thing, or watching people unload the buses? Or will this be entirely a deppy-centric undertaking.

I agree with the quoted above ^^^ and I wanted to add that I feel like it has a lot to do with who he's talking to, you know? Like, Jimmy was friends with him that might put him at ease, a reporter that acts professionally and knowledgeable about them (did his research)
example
and someone that they have interviewed with more than once (like that girl, Tori or something? can't find links sorry, that was a good one, she's good at research too) are among the few interviews that first come to my mind when I think about Phil at ease and speaking more so I think this factor also weights in.

aw, I kinda want the 'rawr' to stay (if it takes the back seat). It's been fundamental to phil's branding and his general weirdness. I'm happy his random roaring phase has been over for a while though

Also, cute koala pictures

Second this, Martyn looks like he's about to drop the poor thing, and D&P are clutching on to them for dear life. Don't break their teeny tiny ribs lest they sink their vampire teeth into you! Wait no these aren't drop bears.

The interview was dry as day old toast but I did like the photo. Is it a new(ly released) one? They look great in it. This answer made me laugh:
What do you find most annoying thing about each other?

P: Dan is way too fussy about mess. If I spill a little bit of milk on his laptop he acts like I've committed a crime!
D: Something about cereal.
 Both clearly over the questions and just messing with the writer at this point. "Something about cereal." Even D&P themselves are tired of their own answers.

I had a weird day where I thought maybe I was over dnp and found that this actually made me really sad. It seems that I'm fairly attached to them (mainly Dan). Then I watched Dans most recent ls and now I'm back.

I agree with whoever said that maybe Phil doesn't really get celeb crushes. I know a lot of people do not. I actually thought that written interview was cute. Lol at Dan killing Phil.

Also on Twitter Dan told someone the reason his hair was straightened in the koala selfie was bc he automatically accidentally straightened his hair. Is this an excuse??? The world may never know

I read this response on twitter and someone being like HOW DOES SOMEONE DO IT ACCIDENTALLY and weirdly(?) I kind of get this. There are things we do in our morning routine every single day that we don't even think about (walk to the bathroom, wash hands and face, take shower, hang the towel in the same place, put in contacts, etc) all mindlessly that if I'm Dan and I've been straightening my hair every day for however many years I might have done the same thing. Although it did excite me to see "I'm seeing if I don't need to do this now" which means hopefully he's considering letting the hobbit hair fly free once and a while.

Glad your D&P hiatus was short-lived!
