I feel like there's always a lot of conversation around what we don't want to see from Dan (ISG) but since his videos are so rare I think most of us just wait until he's hinted to start guessing, and don't really sit around making a list of other things we're eager for him to do.
I am very bad at imagining things. when they're there i know whether I like them or not, but I find it hard to say something beforehand.
I do enjoy most of his videos. his storytime ones are always really good, because they are so lively and have a line that he sticks to when he explains. (maybe this would be helpful for his broader topics videos too; to try and tell it in a story. like his memes video, maybe it would have worked better if he told a story about his own experiences with memes and then drawn a broader conclusion or something? or tell a story and along the way share thoughts. idk if that would work; I'd like to see him try.)

I also agree that there's just things I'd really like him to talk about, and if he wants to do that in a video, I personally would very much enjoy it. Bullying would be very interesting to me, yes. I like vincentian's ideas too.
something I am so very interested in is how fandom does actually affect his life, and how shipping affects his life- but I am aware that he would probably never talk about shipping, at least not at this point (and he's already done that in a more general way). it's just something I personally am very curious about, but those are also very personal topics.
I'd also be interested in what his day is like usually. maybe he could do that in a sketchy way. but idk if there's enough people interested in that and enough of a reason for him to make a video like that, or if he maybe deems that too personal as well.

in general I am excited about anything he makes, really. I like ISG too. I just like when he shares something of himself, whatever that may be.

I'd be up for any of the outfits, less so for Christmas, but they all sound cute, but I don't think I'd want to buy more of the same plushie characters. Shame they didn't think of what the old Snoopy had which was a huge wardrobe of outfits. Mine just has two, including pyjamas.

Oh! So that's the voting people are talking about on Tumblr. I was very confused as I didn't see anyone link to the tweet. I didn't end up ordering plushies for my son for his birthday (I think they were sold out anyway) so this is exciting. I'm on the fence myself in regards to quality (I think where the clothes meet the arm look crappy) I've seen cuter handmade ones, but I like the idea of owning the ones D&P have and of course supporting them.

I asked my son to vote and thought for sure he would choose pastel, but he went with gold TATINOF jackets (second choice Christmas). I personally think they should release TATINOF ones this fall, Pastel in the spring and Christmas ones next December (rather than this Dec because logistically it would probably be too much to release all three so close). While I'd be curious to see the pj design, I would be least likely to buy those. There was someone who made TATINOF jackets and hats for their plushies as part of the photo contest and they looked great. Right now Pastel is in the lead and I'm okay with that, but I think the time to do TATINOF was nine months ago is now.

I think the plushies are really cute, they'd look nice with other similar knick-knacks, like if you have other collectables or figurines or whatever. They're not really something I'd buy personally though because I don't really have anywhere to put them.

i've always thought the plushies were pretty cute and if being a dnp fan wasn't my dirty secret that i keep hidden from everyone i know, i might be inclined to get them. who knows, one day i might cave and buy a bunch of merch and make a weird little shrine to them in my basement where no one could ever see it.

I think your son's choice is interesting, because it shows that maybe he associates them with TATINOF a lot, or at least he really liked it. But for me, I'd be most likely to buy the pajamas (depending on how they execute it), because the content I love and associate with Deppy the most is all the domestic moments and "creep" shots of them lazing about in their PJs, stealing cereal, asleep while editing, etc. And also Sleepless Nights with Phil!

I like your seasonalish themes idea, though! They should def put out winter holiday themed ones at some point! I could probably manage to finagle them into my family's decorations...
Or Halloween ones in commemoration of Halloween Baking 2016, a true landmark moment!

I voted for pyjamas just because I thought it'd be the cutest, most domestic option rather than Dan and Phil™ (and I can imagine someone taking a photo of the plushies with mini hot chocolates and tucked up in bed watching Netflix and it makes me feel warm inside). I also just want to see what design they'd make of them! Traditional white with blue pinstripes, or Dan in a grey shirt and white shorts and Phil in a black long-sleeved top with blue pjyjama bottoms would be ridiculously adorable.
They unfortunately look kind of crappy quality so I don't think I'll buy one though.

I'm not sure what I want Dan to make. I first got into him bc he made me laugh but his humour is a bit of a hit or miss for me these days. I can't stand the ''''edgier'''' meme-y references (I've said this a million times already, sorry). But I'm always up for a good sketch/storytime that highlights his awkwardness or lets us in on his childhood. If it's opinions, I'd love it if he recced some films and TV he's been into (other than anime) bc I can never keep up with what new thing they've been watching. It might encourage interpetretive discourse in the comments as well, idk. I'm not sure who said it but for all its faults his Memeing of Life video prompted a lot of debate and discussion, which is probably something Dan wants to encourage as he seems to like videos that help people or have some kind of lesson.

Oh, and more DINI videos!

i really love when he did more skit/anecdote based videos such as the ones in 2013-14 bc he doesn't do those so much anymore and i really miss them!! i still like the videos now but they just don't have that vibe if you get what i mean??

Dan talking about the new Doctor is the reason I listen to these shows.
It's always so interesting to hear his opinions.

My aesthetic is Dan genuinely loving Phil's video even though it was basically the embarrass Dan challenge.

And the "I have Phil...'s photography skills"

I swear one day Dan will just post a sappy instagram post about Phil and I won't bat an eye.

Before the conversation shifts completely over to the livestream, I just wanted to say that this made me laugh because I used to be the same - I'm home for the summer, and I found an old Amazon giftcard in my room from Christmas. I had no idea what to buy, so since I had just gotten into D&P, I bought TABINOF. (I wasn't willing to spend Real Money on merch, but since it was "free," y'know, whatever). Anyway, my family is lovely but would definitely judge me for buying merch of YouTubers allegedly aimed at tweens, so I was going to intercept the package and make sure no one knew I had bought anything and started asking questions. Unfortunately for me, the package arrived a day early, and my dad, thinking it was one of his business books, opened it. He brought it to me and we had the most awkward exchange of, "is this... yours?" "y..yes.... thank you..." On the bright side, now I now have nothing to hide and can freely express my love for D&P around them.

(We interrupt this program to appreciate the way Dan said, "Hi," in response to the chat calling him dad.)

Re: plushies - I'm not a fan of the original plushie design (not big or soft enough to be cuddly, not detailed enough to be objectively good decorative items), but I would be curious to see the pastel design; I think it would be cute as long as they kept their natural hairstyles, not the wigs, and then just used the clothes, flower crowns, and maybe the tattoos.

damn :) that was a nice liveshow.
the story of when they got to wimbledon is harrowing, oh my god. (security thought they were gonna cause trouble because they were at the VIP entrance and everyone had a heart attack)
i don't even wanna think too deeply about what else i loved; it was just all around so great. he looked so nice and i felt so calm watching him and i kind of actually started crying twice just because life is stressful and they're there and making stuff that is relaxing and i appreciate it so much, dear god i am such a sap but i really, really needed this tonight

That was an adorable live show, he laughed so much and looked so cute. His Colin impression was the best especially the raised eyebrows. Interesting that he said social anxiety more explicitly. That Wimbledon policeman and security was terrible, they really need to treat people like humans. His thumbnail with his fingers on his face was naughty, but it was all a great vibe, he seemed chilled and did some good storytelling. Cheeky again with "yes, I can" (play the piano). Indeed, Danny

I'm so glad Dan mentioned that "the only unattractive thing about Dan is his lack of confidence" comment because I too was like wtf I get genuinely angry sometimes if I spend too long reading YouTube comments.
Enjoyed the female doctor discourse, he got me good with his joke @ the beginning of the ls: "you need a female doctor? Why? Do you have a yeast infection or something?" Cheeky shit.
That Wimbledon story left me S H O O K

And appaz they're working on a FILM???! Or Dan was referring to his latest high calibre sketch idk

I'm also pretending to be shocked by this information.

I enjoyed the live show, we got some good and interesting stories from it. Like the Wimbledon one, that was a good one. Poor Deppy though, these things do seem to happen to them quite a lot.

That was a good liveshow. I need to watch it again for timestamps but I definitely loved Dan's fond callout of Phil saying anal tampon, and the whole Wimbledon story. I feel like if Dan hadn't been with him and the Wimbledon thing happened Phil would have just bolted back home without bothering to get it sorted and prove he was supposed to be there.

The Wimbledon story was actually terrifying for me. As someone who suffers from anxiety I probably would've started crying in the car and told the driver to just leave.

I guess you couldn't do that if you had tickets gifted to you by Instagram, but then again i'm not a super famous youtuber lmao even though i'm totally toying with the idea of braving through my anxiety to post some #content

The stream lagged for me at some point so I think I might have misunderstood but did Dan say when Phil is feeling better they'll film a dinof video together?? I was just thinking today that Phil hasn't been on his channel ina while, the last time was for the blessed baking video

I really loved this livestream! I think I actually appreciate him not having done one for two weeks, because he had so much to talk about that it stayed exciting for me, and he moved on to different topics quite quickly.

Some random stuff that I thought was funny and/or could be analyzable
  • He pronounced "idek" out loud like "I deck" multiple times which for some reason made me laugh but also roll my eyes
  • When he said "a lot of people, even Zoe & Joe, have done videos" on tinder, it made me wonder why he singled them out like even them... because they're siblings? because they're taken? because they usually don't do spons (I have a feeling this isn't it but I've never watched any of their vids so what do I know)... just made me curious
  • Basically everything he said further sent the message that he's never used the app, and doesn't have a need to because he already used the internet to get a bf
  • He was scared to talk to people actually trying to find people to "play board games with" hmm... as opposed to Dan, who already has someone we know he plays board games with...
  • Apparently he watched back Phil reading out "anal tampon" two livestreams ago... why is that such a funny image to me? (also implies he was watching the first time lol)
  • His advice to "listen to your grandmothers" to the 15-year-old was amusing, like maybe don't listen to your parents, but your nans know what's up!
  • It sort of sounded like he was the one who rejected Rejects 2... which is interesting... maybe not though and he was just glad that Tinder rejected it and they got to do something new?
  • His making fun of Phil's arrogance about not getting sick and then the laryngitis hitting the punk in the throat was really funny and fond
  • He literally admitted to looking through GQ Style just to look at all the hot guys in nice clothes in the adverts... I love it... and also same

He certainly makes it sound like he rejected Rejects 2 because "Not now, not yet".
And we did say that it looks like he was meant to go on a date with Phil in the script.
I know it doesn't mean anything and he wouldn't have meant it that way, but it's too good an opportunity
