Yaay something actually resembling a game Only 12 minutes though
I'm enjoying gamingmas in that I'm getting content from them everyday, but I don't feel like I'm getting that much tbh. I didn't even have super high expectations going in, I thought I'd be fine with whatever, but I just feel like there's something distinctly lacking. Like games maybe. But I guess last year is a pretty hard thing to top. Oh well. Dan's hair looked great
And I hope that's not the last we see of them playing VR.

Obligatory: hm what a shocking development that they've shown a room we've seen several times. What could it mean. If a room has a bed, is that sufficient to call it a bedroom and if so let's quibble over ownership. Does it exist, do I exist, do you exist. Wake me for Phil's ls.

On the bedroom, it’s right by the gaming room, if we’ve worked that out right, so since he’s feeling sick enough to lie down it’s understandble he’d prefer not to go all the way to the other room. There are things on the bedside table, plus the phone, that he might be using while actually sleeping in the room and if he does some or all the time, maybe they do just like their own space

I’m single as heck and if that ever changes I’ll need separate single mattresses and duvet covers if we plan on sleeping in the same bed cos as soon as the other person moves, I’m awake (even wearing fleecy pjs that don’t stretch does it), and insomnia can get bad enough sometimes already. Both of them are night owls, one likes to snack in secret, heck maybe one of them snores really loudly. I use the same kind of earplugs Phil showed in one of his sleepless night videos and they help a lot, but they don’t block everything and they often fall out.

That was a decent vid, something a lil different, though Phil's handling of the bow & arrow plus lack of precaution had me very aggravated LOL Such a sweet #bonus clip of Phil on the bed though! More spontaneous filmed-on-phone bits please.

And not going to start with the bedroom debate but I did notice (not that interesting)

That's no alarm clock on his bedside table...that's an internet router and I know it because I have the exact same one (BT Hub 4 if you're very curious) New internet, they say? They've been on the exact same provider since their old flat lol.
I've always seen their router next to Dan's gaming PC (the one he does liveshows on) though, so either a) they have two routers, which means 2 different phone lines, which means HMMM2flatswhatHMMM b) they move their router around sometimes...but why phil's room?
also surely there is an easier way to extend wifi

That was a nice video. I watch a lot of gaming channels and VR videos always irritate me/give me motion sickness, so that wasn't great, but it had nothing to do with them. Somehow it felt short as hell even though 12 mins isn't that short. I love seeing Dan being supportive/encouraging (even if not as overt as, say, the viewers pick my outfits video.) The vloggy bit at the end ended me, good lord. Not sure why they included it but I'm not complaining.

I'm so glad that I'm seeing little-to-no bedroom discourse on my dash. I don't know if that means it hasn't started yet, or that I follow the right people. I mean, many of the more meta-ish discussions related to dnp don't interest me in general (I say on a dnp forum...), but I gotta say bedroom stuff is probably one of my least favorites. I guess because my happily-married-for-30-years parents always slept in separate bedrooms, whether dnp do or not has lit no effect on my opinion of them/their relationship.

Cute video! Unfortunately, I think my dreams for Festive DITL 2.0 are pretty dead, because Phil said that he would come back to the flat(s) to see dan FROM Christmas, which probably means he's going alone to see his family. And I doubt they would do a DITL before the end of gamingmas, which goes right up to Christmas.

Oh well, I'm excited to see what the rest of the month brings!

Okay, that being a router but looking very like an alarm clock/radio is pretty sneaky suddenly appearing on the bedside table (by chance I was just looking at some pinof9 screenshots and it wasn’t there)... edit - I think it is there, it’s just hard to see, it’s in the background of his last few videos. Probably is for the WiFi, then, if he needs an alarm etc he’s more likely to use his phone I guess, but it does infiltrate well

The timeline is bugging me more than the bedroom. I really can't tell but was this video filmed pre-haircut or post-haircut? because if it was pre-haircut then that means they did pre-film some videos and if they did then why are all the videos so short. Last gamingmas there were 14 videos that were over 15 minutes long. I don't even care if they do film in the slounge -I just want another just dance or kinect sports video. (Is there a television in the slounge?)

It looks like it's post-haircut to me, Phil has noticeable shaved sides, which he didn't have at the begining of Gamingmas.

I mean the shaved sides proved that this was filmed after the haircut. If I had to guess it would be that they filmed this video this afternoon after PJ and Sophie left, hence why it was up really late. Also I doubt they had any time to film yesterday. After they finished Dan decided to edit it while Phil went into the next room, "his bedroom" to lay down, since we are fairly certain that they are next to each other. Obviously all guesses but it makes since.

Hi all! I just got caught up on like 20 pages and all the Deppy content. And holy wow I missed so much. I think the last day I was up on everything was last Thursday the 7th. I flew across the country to surprise my best friend for our birthdays and then spent four days sightseeing and hanging out. So I had so much to catch up on! Of the last few days, I really liked the content with PJ, the chopstick video, and the Star Wars premiere pictures. They looked sooo gooood.

I was also getting really domestic vibes from today's vid and I'm here for it.

The vlog part at the end there.. Anyone else who thought of the infamous clip from Dan's old Florida vlog where Phil is resting one the bed and Dan is bothering him and shoving the camera in his face so Phil then says "I hate you." all tired and soft? Because I went straight into the trash.

The video was fine, I wasn't massively into it but I liked the concept of Dan guiding Phil through it and being quite gentle about it (for their standards anyway).

I always thought that Dan kept the running furry joke for the meme of it, but lately I haven't been so sure

Other than that not much to say about the video that hasn't been said. I like how Dan teaching Phil how to play showed how much a nerd he really is, it really isn't just a persona for the camera

Edit: I was just rewatching and I forgot I wanted to mention how Dan kept referring to Phil and Daenerys as a "weird comparison" -- return of making excuses for things that might be interpreted by shippers? Since Dan used to always say how he had a crush on her

I love Skyrim so I was excited to see Phil try it out (in VR, no less). My husband and I share a character, he does all the sneaking around/assassin stuff and leaves me to kill the dragons. As pretty as the game would be in VR, I think the enemies would feel kinda overwhelming from that perspective, so I don't really envy them there.
Easiest setting or not, good for Phil for beating the dragon. I'm not sure I was really expecting him to so it was nice to see him succeed.

I was a bit surprised that the apartment layout/2 flat theory discourse didn't come up after the chopstick challenge since it was another mysterious room with white tiled floor and definitely not the same place they did the baking video.

Well, time to add "Exposing themselves via internet router" to the list of thread titles! If they wanted to improve their internet "downstairs", they wouldn't technically need a new router. There are these things called "Wifi repeaters" that you just plug into a socket and that basically bounce your wifi signal further than it could travel on its own.
I personally would not be able to sleep next to that blue glow, but I guess some are just heavier sleepers. Unless...

I'm guessing they moved the router down stairs when they started doing live streams from the gaming room. That might be why Dan has done his live shows on his phone instead of on his iMac lately.

Dang it... now I’m getting sucked into bedroom conspiracy, because if that’s the router, who would and why would any one put it a foot from where they sleep? I’m not paranoid at all, but resting your brain that close to what is essentially a radiation box seems ill advised... not to mention, how can he sleep with that bright blue status light, which is probably piercing in the dark. Makes me wonder too if “Phil’s room” is more likely the guest room.

Every time the bedroom discourse starts I'm honestly so confused, I have to admit. That room is a shoebox and for me there's no way that's Phil's actual room, nevermind the fact I am 99% sure he and Dan are in a romantic relationship.

But even then, I don't doubt he might still use it some times. There's a bed, a comfy one, it has familiar stuff to him, it's close to the gaming room and on a different floor so that If they wanted or nneeded to sleep separated because one is sick or need sleep but the other doesn't etc it's an useful thing. I don't see how this makes #phandivorced or whatever lmao

Also it's quite obvious that the room looks loved in, Phil films in it so it would be pretty obvious if it looked completely empty, and even then it still looks way more empty and less used than his old bedroom in the old flat.

Btw I don't remember who replied to me but yeah I guess laying on the floor wouldn't be as comfortable as the bed when you're feeling ill, I just wouldn't be able to muster the energy

The video was cute, but I will need to rewatch because I was very sleepy and a bit cranky when I watched it last night. Still cute though. I don't think I would mind if they played it again. Dan replied to someone on twitter saying they might, but this time with dan being the one playing. we'll see.

bedroom discussion is one my least favorite discussions in the phandom, along with the flat layout one, but I will say that it isn't surprising or suspicious to me that the room looked lived in (we didn't even see that much of the room anyway, just the bed with creases). Even if we assumed that phil doesn't actually sleep in there, I wouldn't say the room is necessarily a set. I do think it's likely that he spends time in there and not just to film AP videos, so I don't find it odd that the bed has creases or that there is a router.

demon side note: about the creases on the bed, tumblr is saying it looks like someone was lying under the covers next to phil and then got up, leaving the bed half-unmade. I honestly have no opinion about this, but it's a cute scenario to picture.

I actually think the chopstick challenge probably was filmed in the same space as the baking video - the downstairs kitchen. They were sat at the wooden table with the coloured glass chairs from their old flat, which features in Dan's depression video (during the hydration/healthy eating scene at 5:55), and is also where they sat to decorate the rice crispy cakes in the baking video. It's just filmed at the opposite angle, so in the chopstick challenge the camera would have been set up on the side they were sat during the baking video, while in the baking video it was the other way around. If that makes sense at all?

I'm not gonna get into the bedroom discourse, other than to say I find it unlikely that anyone would be able to sleep with a glowing blue wifi router so close to their head, but

The first and only time I played skyrim was at a friends house. I did a simple side quest that involved changing the books in someones house - I decided since I was in there I would take a cheap pot in the house just for fun, and when I turned around a guard was at the door and I SHIT myself. I threw the keyboard away from myself and jumped out of my seat... so overall, a great experience.

I really loved the game - Dan guiding Phil and the fondness and pride at him winning. Phil’s bloodthirsty attitude. All hilarious content tbh

R.E: Video length

I mean tbh they couldn’t have made it much longer apart from doing another quest (which would’ve extended it too much). They had the inital look around, the training, and then the actual battle - even if they’d have kept the walking inbetween, it would’ve been dull content and wouldn’t have increased the watch time that much.

R.E: Bedroom

I think it was only in this video that I realised how close the door is to Phil’s bed. It was a cute clip and I do think that dnp use the room - having it be just a set would be useless, I don’t doubt that sometimes one of them (probs phil) will chill out in there if they wanna relax on their own. I can imagine working and living with someone for so many years means you do sometimes need your own space to be by yourself in (Dan especially has mentioned shutting himself out).

Yep, it’s just the other side of the table. You can see the edge of the kitchen island with the cooktop where they melted the marshmallows and what not. That slightly curved grey wall was also in Phil’s sleepless night video when he made Kool-Aid.
