I couldn't disagree more that the people who jump to tell other phandom members off in the comments section of their friends social media are in any way, shape or form doing good.

The kind of people who go and write things along the lines of PHAN OMGG on their friends social media posts tend not to be the most mature people to begin with and do not seem to understand why doing that is wrong even when it is explained to them. So when someone comes along to tell the them off rather than deleting and backing off they become indignant and argue about it.

So the people telling them to stop essentially only ever accomplish turning what is usually less then half a dozen pro-Phan posts into pages and pages of people arguing about Phan and what is right or wrong. Bryony (and their other friends) don't want Phans overtaking their comment section to argue any more than they want their replies to be all pro-phan.

I get that people want to prove the whole phandom are not like those fans but I genuinely don't get why anyone would think also posting on her social media to have an argument which substantially increases the amount of phan related posts would be accomplishing that.

If Bryony doesn't want her social media to be made about deppy and therefore blocks phandom members, then i understand and there's nothing wrong with that.

However, i don't think that means she doesn't like the phandom or resents us or deppy for it. After all she's made several comments on twitter defending fandom culture and specifically talked about young fangirls being laughed about just for being enthusiastic. IF she were to turn around and roll her eyes at the phandom's enthusiasm, that would be a tiny bit hypocritical and i don't think she's doing that.

But again, she has every right to keep her social media out of the phandoms reach and if she's blocking people, i get it

EDIT: btw, i follow her on twitter, maybe i should change my icon to a deppy pic to see if she's really blocking people just for that.

Yeah Bryony goes on block sprees all the time, anyone with a D&P icon needs to go because she doesn't like people following her only for the possibility of seeing Deppy popping up somewhere. But sometimes she likes trolling us, or at least I don't think having the word Phan spelled in her insta was a coincidence.

She does dislike the phandom though. Not because she dislikes fangirls or their enthusiasm, but because she doesn't like the shipping real people aspect of it and because she has been questioned and harassed about Phan before. Plus she hates YouTube these days. She doesn't have resentment against D&P of course and is very supportive of everything they do, but as far as she's concerned they can leave their fanbase at the door. Honestly if people had just quietly and respectfully followed her from the beginning she wouldn't be like this I think.

OT, but I'm honestly amazed and mildly disappointed that it is officially DAPGOOSE LA day and neither one of them was caught in an airport or together in Florida. We didn't even get a hot second of Dan being a sad-sack in London. What a shame.

If they show up at the event tonight and there are still no airport sightings at all then you will never convince me Dan wasn't in Florida since last Wednesday. The fact that we got no sad Dan updates, or in fact no Dan updates at all after his liveshow, implies to me that at the very least he wasn't in London.

And during the US leg of the tour she liked a tweet saying 'yeah they love being stalked at airports' w a pic of Phil at the airport with a fan looking like he wanted death. I'd say her main issue is the fans who have no boundaries and the many ways they cross them. Which is fair enough.

the get a grip tweet was probably one of my favourite things bryony has ever done seriously though i stand by her if she wants to rid her social media of the phandom. as someone said, she is a strong advocate for fangirls and fandom culture. she gets it. she's just not on board with harassing real people for information that is not your right to know, and it's also personal for her since she's close friends with dan and phil. i think it's nice that she's defensive of them in some areas where they can't afford to be blunt themselves.

I am still debating attending the actual Dapgoose event. I have a lot of extraneous circumstances that are making it difficult. There is an 80% chance I will be there to pick up my book though, so if anyone else is going and wants to say hi lemme know! I might have my dog with me

Does anybody else think that the recent clothing items could be an actual clothing line? Will deppy one day drop YouTube and go into the fashion industry together? I mean their brand is strong and they know what their customers want - a small label as everyone is ashamed

Yes, I totally agree. Like I get it when she was annoyed because of the stalking in Cyprus, those fans really crossed the line, but getting butthurt about some comments on twitter and instagram? She isn't some old granny who doesn't know what internet is, she knows how fandoms work and that you will always find some people that are annoying. Look at wirrow, he is even interacting with people who have d&p icons and you could tell he is in the same position as her. idk, mabe if I was in her situation I would have a different opinion but I always thought that she doesn't take herself so seriously.
