True!!! I felt this too! The ending is interchangeable with every other ending that they have done for the past year and it left me confused for a sec. (For me Dan was cute and genuine in this vid so it was weird to see him go back to spon mode).

I'll come out of lurking to say hello and give my quick opinions of the new phil is not on fire:

I liked it, but I think it didn't have the 'pop' that a lot of others did. Maybe because they have become more self aware in that the shipping is not going away. Did anyone else get that or just me?

I did like the subtlety of a lot of the jokes and of course the touching

The questions were mediocre, but seeing what other people put in the tag it's hardly surprising because as if they would put any explicit material in there. I find it embarrassing, and this is why I choose not to participate much in 'phan' culture.
Prefacing that I am 27 years old, more on the 'older' demographic.

Other than that, it was good. Here's to next year

I don't know how many times I have been replaying it but I totally love it I agree that they seemed a little bit tired, but I think they looked very happy and relaxed too. I loved it, I agree that it was relaxed and just them having fun. Nothing felt forced and I liked how Phil seemed more adult and less censored.

I have watched it three times and could easily watch it another three. I really enjoyed it.
I didn't get the thing you're all saying about the bed sheets, it just felt like they were trying to be funny and pretend they didn't swap the sheets over. Nothing more.

Oh and did anyone else notice during the mannequin section (2:17) that it looked like Dans blobfish plushie was on Phil's shelving unit? I'm not 100% sure it is the plushie but it really looks like it.

It was! For a second I was because I had it in my head Phil gave it to Dan but I looked up the tweet and remembered it was the other way around

Yes it was!! (but dan gave it to phil so it's actually Phil's not dan's if that's what you mean by Dan's plushie.)This tweet has a zoom in on the shelving unit and you could clearly see it there. And it also looks like phil put the creator of the year award there too!
Also I don't have much to say on PINOF as most of you have already listed the best parts!! I feel about the whole thing. They were both extremely happy and relaxed in this. That's all I ever really like to see in their videos, honestly.

On rewatch I did like it a lot better...I can't remember which Pinof - probably 4 or 5 but every time Phil touched Dan, Dan would make a face or verbally say he was disgusted and now not only has he dropped the faces but he initiated most of the physical contact so I'm glad Dan has grown so much.

Also, got strong platonic vibes from this and it's funny that the more open they are the less I believe in the "ship" and the more I believe in the "friend"ship. Not a bad thing because I love them either way but just an observation.

Yeah I've seen people complain on Twitter for a few weeks now. I don't think D&P are affected much, when I looked at Phil's page earlier his views seemed fine (as long as it's not about the tour or book anyway).

The best friends and dating shtick is certainly not mutually exclusive (new T-shirt merch for the boys? ) At this point I think are using the 'best friends' label purely because it sums up their relationship so well! Also, as it's clearly the "label" with which they're publically comfortable, it's probably going to stay the course, which I'm absolutely fine with. (And also perhaps - unintentionally? - genius, branding-wise: if there's some kind of break-up in romance-ville with Deppy, we as the viewers won't fall off the train, so to speak, as has happened countless times with YouTube couples. Because they're still - and always will be - best friends. ) (This is not a groundbreaking statement about their relationship, I apologize ).

I loved it. I have to agree with Dizzy about the whole bf's and more/married. God knows the only person I would let touch my bedside drawer is my hubby. If we both die my cousin has been told to burn the whole thing before my parents come to clean out the house. Just saying...

I loved the touching, but not the obvious touching, the small "move over/you're in the way" touching, someone else commented on one instance of it too (soz don't remember who). It really stuck out to me first watch through. I mean we know they are comfortable with each other but it is touching like that that really cements that for me.

Also I would like to retract my comments about the horrible suggestions that were in the tag. (I mean they were still horrible but) Deppy really could give a flying f*ck about any of that crap now, and I love it. They were enjoying themselves immensely and it showed, they weren't put off by all the sh*tty comments in the tag and I am living for this new DGAF to the nth degree deppy. I mean they aren't making out on YT but that is not what I want. I want natural, good-natured fun/bants and this PINOF as come off as such. (Although let's be honest I wouldn't close YT if they did decide to make out or anything )

There are parts I could have lived with out... the Jazzy tiih is one part. It went on too long or something for me, it slowed the whole thing down.

This has been a long day, so after finish my second finaland while eaiting my father to pick me from uni I decided to start watching it. Unlike pinof7 that I dislike (only the first minutes), this make me smile with the first seconds and laugh in the first minute, then my dad came so I wait till I was home to finish watching it.

I love it , this may be my favourite except for pinof 1 because you know, fetus boys that finally met. It was more relax than 7 and more autentic? idk, it was great. I came with low expectations and leave very happy
