I'm not sure what you thought was "pixelated" exactly, but I think what you're seeing there is not a sign of manipulation but just of the screenshots being resized for the video. If you save an image and then you want to show a zoomed-in portion of it, you only have a small number of pixels actually there to show, and they'll look a bit blurry or weird as you make them bigger. It is "manipulated" in the sense that the original image was changed, but only "changed" in the sense of being probably saved as a smaller file, then cropped, then enlarged again?

So yeah, some "image manipulation" is just the stuff you do to make images you got from one place work in a different place and is totally normal!

Also they have both phones so I'd expect if they were going to "fake" anything they'd just send actual texts. Like the jockstrap joke might have been planned before they texted it, especially as something recent? But it'd still be real screenshots. I don't know if it was, just like, it wouldn't strike me as weird if they did intentionally slip in something to have a Youtube-appropriate salacious joke for the video.

Anybody want to share if you think they'll skip April Fool's Day tomorrow? I feel like it's a possibility. It's been a wild year so far.

Also, Phil is seeming SO relaxed and happy, it's wild. I really hope this freedom to be honest about his life frees him up for all the creative projects he's been hinting at over the years.

Seems pretty quiet. I still check now and then, but mostly find that I'm getting my DnP fix from just enjoying their regular content. I guess some people will be in a similar boat?

Gotta be honest- one reason I stopped posting is that I don't want to be the last post ever lmao :spoopy:

But I miss having idb to read. It's kinda like the phrase "everyone wants a village but nobody wants to be a villager." I even joined tumblr to try to have opinions to read but I liked it better here.

So I'll give starting a conversation a try: it's a tour, right? A podcast tour I suppose. I feel like that's too basic for these two though... will it have a musical number? Are they going to South America this time (in the livestream they mentioned wanting to visit)? Anyone have thoughts? Can we revive idb???

Stage show! Wow. My partner and I are considering flying to Warsaw for a few days, as we've wanted to visit anyway and catch the show, too. It feels surreal to 1. consider paying & organizing a trip oversees to see dan and phil live in 2026 and 2. have my partner be more excited than me. They even asked me if it's okay that they buy meet&greet tickets without me (i'm not interested in a meet&greet) when they've just started watching some dnp content with me last year!

The venue in Poland looks quite disappointing, though, and I'm not a fan of spending so much on a show that I don't even have a description for, you know? Plus, I have never managed to watch any of their previous live shows because I don't enjoy the way they perform their personas live or the intense audience reactions. Just hoping it might read as a bit less intense and more authentic now that we are all older, lol. But I'm very much undecided. Have you all decided?

so i think it's only fair that he comes up here and shares this with me

I'm happy for people in Mexico!! I'm slightly nervous about it due to the ii tba debacle. But it doesn't say the actual show is tba... just the venue. Hopefully it happens!!

I would like to go but I am away when they are coming near my city.... hmmm. I don't know what I'm going to be doing in the fall because I'm in contract job hell, sooo I'll have to see if I can swing it closer to the time.

I've been to each tour since ii and have always had a fun time. I'm not a screaming type of fan (lol) and I think I know what you mean about that but I've always had fun. There are always non-screamers around :D
As far as it being their 'performer' personality, it was for sure. I imagine it still would be because it is probably fairly scripted, but maybe less so if it's podcast themed. In the past, they put a lot into their shows so I've always found it pretty cool to see live. My $.02: going to see them in Warsaw would be awesome!

I hope IDB will revive for the tour. Today was ticket sale day. I lost my place in line because I closed Ticketmaster. I got back in right at noon and there were thousands ahead of me for Chicago. I did get tickets, but the seats probably aren’t that good, which is disappointing for how expensive they were with the fees. I’ve been to all the tours since II as well. Looking forward to it, but it is on a workday and I also have to work the day after and the venue is about 3 hours away. Nice to have something to look forward to. I was disappointed that they didn’t explain what it will be before tickets went on sale. We all pretty much knew it was going to be a tour, so I wish they would have announced it in the last livestream. I wonder though if they bookers used the sign up to figure out where to book venues based on interest. Here’s hoping we get some more posts here in the coming months. Remember when folks would do timestamps? There’s certainly plenty of content if anyone felt so inclined to.

Well, I thought I would be able to buy tickets later in the day or the day after because I was travelling, but Warsaw sold out much quicker than I anticipated. So did all other european cities that I could travel to. Another time, i guess! (or perhaps new dates will be added?)

Any ideas about what this show could be?

It IS pretty funny that several shows have sold out despite them not actually telling us what it will be like. (I got tickets to the show in Vancouver- got tickets even though I don't know my schedule yet- because I worried by the time I do, there won't be any left). Hopefully we get some info tomorrow during the podcast!

I'm curious what online content will look like once the tour starts / as it gets closer to the start. I assume the podcast will go on hiatus? But maybe they plan to keep it going in some fashion (less frequently? Recording of part of the show?). I'd love some day-in-the-life type content while they're touring too...

Their happiness is so endearing.

Also, it feels like an alternate timeline.

Such a lovely video!

They are really going through it with their house, wow, it must be very unfortunate timing with the tour preparations and all.

I wonder how the tour will affect their other content. I don't see how it's possible to release a new podcast episode each week while touring, so I expect that to be put on hold for a bit. So, I anticipate more low-effort content, which I always personally find lovely.

On a side-note, even though the dan and phil channel is great, I really miss their gaming content. I hope we get some soon!

I'm all for advertising the forum, but how? Where?

It's just unbelievable to me that they confirmed

1. PINOF on-camera kiss real
2. It was UPLOADED TO AMAZINGPHIL and UNLISTED, not even privated?! In context of the video, it sounds like it was still unlisted relatively recently as well, like not deleted idk... fucking over a decade ago?!
3. Phil considered making it public as an alternative to the hard launch video apparently? He might have been joking there I can't tell. That would have been the funnier option tbf. If I stumbled upon that video on AP I would've assumed that another glitch had happened... I imagine the rest of us would've done the same and asked people to stop watching it or whatever. Phil would have to step in to tell us it was intentional lol

I guess it's a good thing phil was in charge of the footage otherwise I think the clip would have been Erased from the earth at one point or another

I'm intrigued by their coming out process. I don't have any time stamps or anything but I swear it wasn't too long ago (certainly post hard launch) that they said they did not kiss during pinof 1. Meanwhile not only did they but Phil had clipped it and posted it to youtube...

I’ll chime in! I’m happy to go to another tour, even without knowing the synopsis, lol. I’ve been to all but TATINOF and I can say each one gets a little more chill, both in performance theatricality and the audience! I think some of that is practice and confidence on stage and in their writing.

Looking back, I had no clue what TIT was meant to be about the entire time, so I expect this to look pretty similar. They are infamously bad at describing what they do for an hour  (its a comedy variety show)

I’m also SHOCKED at how fast it sold in my city. I wasn’t going to rush for my usual balcony seats, but they were selling out within the DAY!

IDK why they dragged their feet for so long to make one, it looks like they’re having a lot of fun!

I feel like the forum is dead because there is no longer anything to speculate about and everyone (or at least me) enjoys their content passively. I got to say, as much as I do love the old days of IDB, I think this is my favourite era for deppy as they are truly being themselves and they are so unapologetically funny and opinionated now. I check back here every month or so, just to see if there is something new, but I don't have much to say.

Actually, I do have a hot take, I am going to give this stage show a miss because it's wayyyyyy too expensive, but I look forward to watcghing ti vicariously through social media clips

Look who I found on Akinator!
Image
It took like 30 questions, but after question 25 he really zoomed in with super specific questions. There were 8 other searches for Richard, the last one being just a couple of hours before me, so I assume that I was not the only one who thought "I wonder if Richard is on Akinator" after watching the end of this week's patreon yap.

^^ Can Phil express an opinion, Dan?? The interviewer even asked Phil by name at some point and Dan still swooped in.

Always wild to see them explain their work to outsiders

I'm the same. I was wanting to go since TiT was about 35$usd in my area and I gave it a skip because I was in a very poor period of my life (divorce. bleh) I was excited to take my daughter that went to II with me when she was 8 and is now 16. But I just can't justify spending 70$usd per ticket. I'm gonna keep checking just in case the price goes down as it gets closer. I don't know if that's something that actually happens, but a girl can dream, eh?
