I couldn't care less about the vegan thing tbh. Eat what you want and it's none of other people's business. But I hope that people won't expect more from Dan than what he said in the ls. A week just means an experimental period, no obligation for further commitment.

Dan should just keep his mouth shut when he 'goes vegan' for a few days tbh. I hate it when people announce their new dietary habits because it's ridiculous, and in the case of veganism he's just setting himself up for backlash or becoming bait for that FreeLee nutcase. I'm also forever disturbed by people caring about what other's put in their bodies, can't imagine feeling any type of way over someone eating a cookie or whatever. It's weird
lmao @ Dan being pissy about vegan stereotypes though because while those are usually pretty OTT, he's also friends with someone who literally compared the meat industry to the Holocaust once.

I see that Emma Blackery finding moderate success gave people ideas...
I had to do a double-take: someone compared the meat industry to the Shoah? Are you kidding me?
I don't really get it how someone can believe that degrading and attacking others can make them change their mind/diet. The same goes for shocking imagery and charities imo.
Not to mention that being completely vegan/vegetarian is nearly impossible in non-first world countries, but the activists like Anthony don't seem to think about that
That was a good laugh, very aggressive balloon-pop with the first dart by Dan, brilliant snarky end line from Phil and funny all the way through. Funny to see them in the Dapgoose outfits and realise it was filmed earlier that day. I like the presenter's long sharp black nails, can't help but want to find her a nicer dress, though.
Poor crew having to blow up balloons with stuff inside them just for that and then having to clean it all up afterwards too. It always stumps me slightly why they release videos with giveaways for things when they've already released it, there'll be a few people who haven't bought it yet, but most will have.
Was not expecting it at all, though, so nice to see them again so soon. Has anyone else noticed how often Phil mentions how bruised his butt was from that fall off the stage at Playlist? He was bruised elsewhere too, but he's brought up butt bruises a few times (maybe he landed on it so it got the worst of it and it hurt to sit down, poor love).
Phil looks so good in that video (as usual) :lel: Oh, Dan too of course!
I thought this was a fan who convinced them to play it at first and I was very surprised that they'd make a video with a fan Quite funny, I was just thinking how I could need a new video of one or both of them and this pops up
Interrupting the veganism debate to bring you adorable Dan with a puppy. You're welcome
Also, I didn't mind the Penguin video thing, but none of those Never Have I Ever answers were particularly surprising or interesting, so it could've been better

That was so boring they just told us stuff we already know at least Dan looked like an angel and Phil looked pretty good, too. And they got sparkly streamers all over them, that was cute. Penguin girl was endearingly nerdy but quickly got forgotten about, probably since D&P are so used to conducting their own things. Still it was nice to get a video from them.......I hope Dan doesn't take the quiz idea though, let Phil do something unique lol.
Now that's a sweet photo of a sleepy dog with a fluffy-haired brown-eyed cutiepie. I love that thick shirt on him too, so many things enhance his huggability.

You know what whatever, the world's a mess, hope is evaporating and this conversation isn't worth having. But are you disturbed by people caring about others wearing fur? I'm not talking semantics-old-passed-down items that have fur. Dan already owns a leather bag that he's used recently. Somebody earlier mentioned him buying leather clothes for fashion, but he stopped doing that his last vegan go-round. I'm talking new fur, fresh off the corpse and happily bought for nothing more than fashion. Can you at all understand somebody having an objection to the need for that? Just follow the basis of that train of thought along the line and apply it to food. The needlessness of it when alternatives exist. No need to be disturbed. Please do what you want, eat what you want, maybe Freelee-like people have made you roll your eyes one time too many that you want to dismiss the entire philosophy, but compassion really isn't anything to be disturbed by. I'm going to go back to being disturbed by the lack of it being demonstrated left and right lately (WELL MOSTLY RIGHT YOUGETME). What a shitshow the world is.
To me fur isn't comparable to food, the only thing it has in common is that they're both animal products. If you're against that by default then I understand the reasoning, but I'm not so yeah :\ Diet is a very personal thing to me and many others, so people having opinions on that just rubs me the wrong way. How does that mean that I want to 'dismiss the entire philosophy' or whatever, that's reaching a bit. I truly think it's great that people choose that for themselves, there's great merit in it for the world and I genuinely do think people should eat less meat, but all of that has nothing to do with me finding it disturbing that people (vegans and meat eaters alike tbh) get so up in people's business over their food. Like Dan says he's gonna do it for one week and immediately people are hoping that he sticks with it and that he's going in the 'right' direction and all of it makes me massively uncomfortable and I don't see any of that as 'compassion'. I know it all comes from a good place and that nobody means any harm (not on here anyway), but that doesn't change how I feel.

I... feel like I'm missing something because this is vastly hypocritical. You could just not watch his live show, which is optional off the cuff content he does partly so he can express his thoughts, feelings and opinions and also partly to update his audience about what he's doing. You watch them so presumably you want him to share everything else, but when it's what he eats then it's weird? Hmm ok then.
I don't know if he's ever discussed being vegan on his channel so nobody has been forced to listen to him talk about it. Let the poor boy talk about what he wants to on his own YouNow for christs sake. Honestly. I do get tired of the "let's bully Dan" mentality in the fandom, I don't find it even remotely funny.
In other news, were people guessing what the next gaming video might be or not? Don't mind me whilst I mourn the Pokémon Go series lol. Never will we see Dan's full cosplay, sob.
Yeah you definitely missed something there because that's not what I said.

I'm glad you caught your own presumption there, saves me time.
For the actual reply.. Sure Dan can say whatever he likes in his liveshows, but then he shouldn't complain when he gets dragged again when he quits veganism just like last time. I feel like that line in his self diss track wasn't aimed towards himself, but towards fans who complained because they had previously hailed him their new vegan prince. And now he's setting himself up again. Whatever, if he wants to get attention that way that's fine. Him talking about food is not what I find creepy, I never said that. What is creepy is people suddenly projecting expectations onto Dan, suddenly caring about what he eats, hoping that he does this or that. That freaks me out and I've never personally seen good come from it, no matter the intention.
But yes I am an evil Dan bully. Fear me.

Yeah it was Anthony. I forgot he went for a slavery comparison as well. He really is a rat and I hate that Dan and Phil have become friends with him. I agree with Dan that vegan stereotypes are stupid, but I can't possibly take him seriously when he goes all ~senpai~ over that moron.
Dan and Phil need better US friends in their lives tbh.

Dan's brother is a hardcore vegan and has been for a few years—not saying that's his primary motivation, but maybe a bit of influence has seeped into Dan when he visits home or goes on holiday with the family.

In regards to that poor host? She didn't stand a chance. She knew it, the camera people knew it. Dan and Phil eventually forgot she was there...

i know this wasn’t directed to me, but as someone who did say here that i hope he sticks with it i wanted to give my two cents.
when i said i hope he sticks with veganism i 100% mean i hope he sticks with it for himself. being vegan is not for everyone, and i wouldn’t think any less of him if he didn’t continue. he obviously has his reasons for why he wants to become a vegan so for me, wishing for him to try to continue after this week was not meant as: stick with it because this is the "'right' direction." i meant it as: "stick with it because as difficult as changing your diet is, if you have your reasons why it is important to you then i wish you good luck, i hope you can persevere because you have personal/moral reasons why this is what you want to be doing right now.
also, i’m pretty sure people here do not think that being vegan is the “‘right’ direction.” many people did share their opinions about being vegan or vegetarian and why it was right for them personally.

i want dan to stick to a vegan diet as long as that makes him happy. i personally don’t think i am projecting expectations on him, as this is something he wants for himself. he has his reasons for becoming vegan so this is something he wants to do, at least for right now. if he quits and then people say they wish he would still stick with being vegan i can understand how that would be wrong because he decided to quit. but as long as he decides he wants to do this, i think it is supportive and not projecting expectations .
Off-topic but I ordered a set of Wirrow prints and got sent my order twice. I did email to let them know about it but was advised I could just keep them but as I don't really have use for a second set and they shouldn't cost much to post if anyone wants them I'll send them to you free of charge if you want to send me your address.
If Dan's going to be vegan, he must give up cheese on pizza - and I don't see that happening (and some sort of fake cheese is cheating, plus it tastes like sawdust.) So it *might* be more palatable for him to mix in vegetarian dishes when he can: it's easier to stick with particularly when a roommate is not so inclined, and you can still get a balance of proteins that males need to maintain muscle mass.
Moving on. Someone earlier mentioned Dan's seemingly getting paler over the past few years. I have some theories: Dan has contracted the same skin condition that afflicted Michael Jackson; SPF 500 sunblock has been invented; assimilation is nearly complete; maybe the Urge is true; or they still don't know how to light.
Phantasy wrote:maybe a bit of influence has seeped into Dan when he visits home or goes on holiday with the family.
Wirrow, a close friend and someone they hang out with regularly, is also vegan - I think of anyone is influencing Dan then that's a likely candidate.
What are Wirrow's main motivations for being vegan? Sorry, that's a weird thing to ask but some of the things Dan said in his liveshow seemed very much like things his brother has said. (Is that okay to say? lol I don't know how far is too far when talking about things like Dan's family)
I found the Penguin video just kind of meh, primarily because of the questions. I certainly didn't expect it to be at the entertainment level of Dan's collab with Tyler playing the game, but there weren't any questions that even a casual fan wouldn't know the answer to.
I'm guessing they actually provided the questions so they would have answers ready to go. Conveniently each question/answer was something they had done a video about. Just some basic promo-ing. No harm (and they were gorgeous as always), but meh

I'm not sure what Wirrow's motivations are, I don't follow him that closely. But a cursory search of his twitter shows he's been a vegan since at least 2010. I am not involved in the vegan community at all but I think the ideals might be shared pretty widely.
(and re: Dan's brother - don't quote his social media directly or link to it and you're fine.)

I definitely get that everyone here only means good things, I'm just uncomfortable with it. Ultimately none of that is my main problem with Dan announcing to the internet that he's going vegan again though, I'm just confused as to why he's setting himself up to get hated on again by a small but very nasty hardcore group of 'vegan' internet trolls.. Does he enjoy the attention? Being able to complain again? I don't get it and would keep it to myself, but Dan works in mysterious ways sometimes.
