I don't think I've ever been so happy for a year to end. And I say that despite finishing college and getting married this year. The site header looks so nice and explosiony, and I'm super impressed at how quickly cardgate was solved. I hope you all have a safe and happy new year.

I totally agree, I think they pretty much had to have bought the card with Phil in mind. It's so sweet, because even though it's not addressed "To Dan and Phil," Phil is still totally integrated in their message and in the card itself!
It seems that if there's one thing Dan's parents do well, it's picking out good/funny cards; remember that watership down birthday card from them that Dan once praised in a liveshow?
Anyway, I'm seriously so happy and proud of us for working it out. Thanks adonais for finding that card (I think that was totally the breakthrough moment!), and to kkell3000 for finding the one with the right message!! And thanks to everyone who contributed and helped decipher the message! As mysterylovescompany said, this has truly been the IDB feel-good story of this year lol!

#cardgate was the the best way to end 2016, shows what magic happens when people collaborate - glad to have been part of it, even if my only contribution was a mostly incorrect grope in the dark

Also, I just wanted to chime in with what everyone else is saying, in that I've loved having this little community this year and have enjoyed getting to know you all and having people to obsessively stalk analyze with. I can't wait to see what's next, 2016 has certainly been a big year
I hope 2017 brings great things for D&P and all of us Let's start with a house, dog and koi-pond shall we boys?
I'm in agreement- IDB has made me laugh quite a lot this year and I'm glad to be a part of it.
I'm optimistic about 2017 (I still have about 5 hours left of 2016) but I'm looking forward to many more "gates" and many more bants with everyone.
I have also really enjoyed joining this little community and always love reading everyones posts. #cardgate has been particularly enjoyable

are the only YTers I watch and this is the only forum I've ever been to, so I have nothing to compare it to, but as cringy as we sometimes feel about some of the conversations we have on here, I like to think that if did lurk here, as awkward as it might be for them, I think they would smile in fondness at the community we've built here. They've said multiple times how happy they are that their videos have brought people together and I think IDB is a wonderful example of how people from all over the world can come together when they have something in common. to you all
