The video was nice enough. I was disappointed in my results as I pictured myself walking alone so it kinda knocked out three of the results. Phil looked nice and he looks AMAZING in those bryony selfies :love1: :love1:

Also LOL at the fact that Dan remembered to promo this video more than Phil did and it turned out to have nothing to do with him.

I made the test along with him and oh god, we got so different results hahaha

And I also think that the Capitain America part was bullshit. I wonder what he really thought about :illuminati:

I liked that, it was a lot of fun doing the test and he made some funny comments when he realised what the things meant. I couldn't help but think of walking with him, I don't know who I'd have thought of if he wasn't right there talking in front of me (tbh probably still him). Also my table was empty and I didn't want to force anything onto it, so I left it. I'm actually pretty happy, though, so maybe if I'd taken longer than half a second before he put his photo up I'd have come up with something. I like a clear, tidy table, though. Even just placemats all over it get in the way if you want to draw (I use a desk for that, though, so idk). Everything else was a lot closer, though. I loved his mammoth tangent, typical of him;

You know what? If Dan took this quiz, we'd be analyzing it inside and out, so here we go:
  • Really interesting to note that he perceives his problems as mammoth. Doesn't come as a surprise, as we know Phil loses sleep over anxiety sometimes, but I liked that he addressed that.
  • Also, he admitted that he's fairly passive in his response to problems. Again, not too surprising. I immediately think of his reaction during the book store incident. Aggressively responding is definitely Dan's forte. I also really loved him giving additional insight here too: Deal with a problem straight away - like making a phone call. So, that's definitely something he faces and look at that! ISG with Phil.
  • His ambitions are high. I see that. I mean we definitely usually perceive him as the business-focused, get-shit-done, half of this duo. It's interesting he didn't elaborate more, but like... Yeah. I think this is very Phil.
  • I'm interested in his response to the fence question and how he disagreed and thought there should be a fence. In conclusion: He perceives himself as a closed-off person. Ain't that the damn truth, y'all. Let us in (to your brain), Phil!
  • Durability of the cup, assuming Captain America is actually Dan (lbr), is also legit. But realistically... that cup is made of diamond.
  • Puddle = desire for love. Here's how I'm going to read into that: He's already found love. He doesn't need to desire it. Also I mentioned this already, but damn... quick transition to the next answer there, Phil.
Those are my thoughts. I'm taking this more seriously than I should (esp when my answers resulted in bullshit), but if Phil's gonna give us filler, I'm gonna be obnoxious about it.

I was distracted by that unmade corner of his bed.

Definitely a meh filler video. Maybe he chose this topic because he knows people like to psychoanalyze but, if you're going to give answers like "Captain America", and answers questions that touch on parts of your life you want to keep private, it's not going to work.

I did this test along with him and as expected it's just inaccurate as hell

The video was funny though. Nothing groundbreaking but a solid AP video. Also I actually believe he thought of Captain America, it just seems like a very Phil thing to do

Funny because I actually quite enjoyed the video. It obviously wasn't the most amazing, memorable thing he has done but it was a bit of fun. For some reason it reminded me of the old Halloween story things they used to do. It was fun to see his answers and the explanation, with a sprinkling of life advice.

As it has only been a week since his last upload, I'm interested to see if he is going to try out a weekly upload schedule or if this was just a one off.
sorry if I come off a bit wanky

I feel like I just got a glimpse of a parallel universe where Phil and his muscly bf Chris Evans are currently moving to their luxurious penthouse in NYC where they're gonna live with their 8 dogs and I feel content.

I actually really liked it. It might not have been the most creative or surprising thing but : Phil looked so good and the video itself too idk if it was better quality or just better framed, he did give us interesting hindsight into his mind (his dream house, how he deals with issues etc) and his reactions to the most important person in your life/love life things were great to watch. Like whatever you think his relationship with Dan is, I think it's obvious everyone's minds went to him and then it was funny seeing Phil not making a single comment relating to himself when it came to his love life (where for all the other questions he talked about his perspective/gave his thoughts on how it applied to him) :ribena:
I love this trend of them completely refusing to share anything coming close to their love lives/relationships even when it would be the most natural and obvious thing (with the best example being the Tinder videos, I'm still laughing at that)

Honestly, I perceive this as easy filler from the 2 of them. Something along the lines of Dan saying: "We'll be on vacation. How can we give them content we don't need to work that hard on? Phil! You do a psych quiz. That fits your channel and takes zero effort."

Fin~

I don't expect an upload schedule of this regularity to happen again. He can definitely prove me wrong, though.

Could not agree with this more. You can't analyze your psyche if you're just giving joke info.

Great post, rizzo. I should probably watch it again - my snap decision was that it was boring and constructed to give away nothing, but perhaps there's more there. I think the format of the quiz itself was annoying to me. I'd actually prefer him have pulled up a buzzfeed one. Multiple choice answers are always interesting since he can't Captain America his way out of them.

I will say, I felt like he was not holding back on the adultish humor again. Herpes mention, and sperm coming from a mammoth... leg.

I also feel like we got two Phil videos in quick succession because Dan didn't want to be bothered filming or editing more gaming videos. Now I think that's where his cheeky, "You'll get an AmazingPhil video!" was coming from - pawning responsibility off on Phil to make something quick and get it edited.

Fun fact: I googled the test and the first one that comes up has a different explanation to the body of water bits:
The size of the body of water is related to the size of your sexual drive.
If you became very wet, it indicates that sex is important to you. If not very wet, it may mean it's less important.
I wish Phil took that one instead

What I got from the test is that I'm way too literal. I'm not sure a fox represents my problems and I don't think my dream house looks like a tiny cottage but I was still stuck on the "walking through the woods" bit I think.

I did liked the video though even if the quiz is silly. Please go ahead and tell us more about the hot guys you wanna go stroll through the woods with, Phil.

This video had to have been edited in the last two days - 'psychically write it down on you Apple iBrain' with a picture of the iPhone X which was only announced on Tuesday :ribena: maybe this wasn't even shot when Dan announced it last week?

I liked it - it made me laugh - never thought I'd here Phil go so in-depth about mammoth IVF but here we are  it was a nice glimpse into his brain

also plz explain how my answer to question 1 was my girlfriend and my answer to question 8 was 'drink it'... what :facepalm2:

I really liked the newest vid, it was fun to play along. Though obviously these things don’t really tell us anything at all imo.
Plus I always like to get a glimpse into Phil’s thoughts.

As for the latest gaming video, it was my fave DD one so far but I just have to accept that it's not my fave kind of game (to watch at least).

Same. iLke, literally, the same. Did you pet the fox? Also, I was walking with Phil because he's the first person I thought of....because I was watching a video of him

Cheers rizzo! I daresay his penthouse on the edge of Central Park doesn't need a physical fence. My brain said "Dan" immediately, but when I closed my eyes that's not who I was walking with, so I'm going to assume that it was just supplying Phil's answer. On the one hand I don't believe for a second that Phil would be walking with anyone but Dan, on the other hand his mind is a strange creative place, so Captain America and a mammoth really didn't surprise me.

All of my answers were pretty mild and moderate: I was walking with my son, we saw a deer, tried not to spook it, dream house was a medium sized cottage with several out buildings, no fence, the table was set with harvesty dinnerware and vases of wheat, the cup was ceramic, body of water was a pond and I crossed it with a canoe. Which sure when analyzed fits fine. Now please just let me jump right in, I want to live in that idyllic dream forest.

Huh sparkle that's curious, I didn't even notice the iPhone X. Well, it seems he at least did the editing on vacation, but it really couldn't have been filmed after Saturday. Just out of curiousity, what body of water were you drinking?

Still craving a collab. I let the predicting Dan's future vid play immediately after, but I think I will need to rewatch the hair curling video again soon.

No, it just stared at me and ran away, because it's a fox. I'm not imaginative at all.

I'm in a bad mood so bear that in mind but I didn't like this video. It was so bland and uninspired, an obvious holiday filler that was easier than another gaming video. "Don't think of a funny answer!" he says while answering Captain America only seconds later  It probably didn't help that the video strongly reminded me of an old collab he did with Alex. The Cube or whatever it was called. Thinking of that would sour anyone's mood.

Aside from that, his hopefully more real answers didn't surprise me. Like rizzo said, it was very in line with what we already know about Phil. The most interesting one to me was the puddle one, which could indeed be interpreted as him already having found love (and not only romantically imo, Phil is very loved by friends and family as well) so having no real desire for it. The test also seemed very flawed. Like the fence question didn't apply because a penthouse doesn't really need a fence to be inaccessible. The outside area of a penthouse would only need a fence to keep you from falling or something (which is probably enough fake psychological fuel for something else but hey).

Can we make this a thing like we did with Haru? (and I agree open questions give him too much freedom)

I only noticed it because I'm due an upgrade next month and i'm trying to decide what to upgrade to and was looking forward to the keynote, so I've been paying a bit more attention to Apple than I normally do

I was drinking out of the cup  my walk was... interesting, I was with my girlfriend, and I saw a robin which I sneezed on (okay...?), and my dream house was a large modern flat (basically imagine the house from Twilight...), with no fence, the table was clean and white and was empty, as was the room apart from a big fluffy black carpet, the cup was made out of china and I drank it, and outside was a swimming pool which I took a canoe across.

I'm very confused by the fact I sneezed on a bird and took a canoe across a swimming pool

I really liked this video! It felt like 2011 AP but and I was living for it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for interactive videos

The quiz itself was pretty inaccurate (for me, anyway) and Captain America was definitely just for the lols, but Phil's dreamhouse description was cute :love2:

Aggressively responding is definitely Dan's forte. I also really loved him giving additional insight here too: Deal with a problem straight away - like making a phone call. So, that's definitely something he faces and look at that! ISG with Phil.
  • His ambitions are high. I see that. I mean we definitely usually perceive him as the business-focused, get-shit-done, half of this duo. It's interesting he didn't elaborate more, but like... Yeah. I think this is very Phil.

I also thought, it is worth mentioning, but I did this test before and in my version the size of the body of water had something to do with how comfortable someone is with their sexuality, rather than a love life. I guess it's interchangeable. Also, I feel that we haven't really got a good idea of what Phil's true answers are, considering, you know, he tends to lie a lot and a lot of his answers were based around running jokes and fantasy ideas of a penthouse rather than what he was actually instructed. He was asked to describe his answers based on a house-in-the-woods situation, and he didn't do that. Sorry, I'm pissy, but that video was so dull. I was at least hoping he'd be honest, and speak naturally, but his answers were too outlandish to be taken serious or to be anyway realistic. With answers like Mammoth? Sure. Captain America? Fuck off, Phil. He could have said his mother, if he didn't want to bring up Janice.

While I agree the video felt like a filler I still enjoyed it to an extent. I'd much rather have an eh video than none at all

One thing I've thought of before that arose again in this video was how Phil's references to hot male celebs comes across. I find it interesting that in the last few months some consensus has formed even among casual viewers that dan intentionally keeps his sexuality "blurry" (which some believe is basically coming out) . However many people still say Phil hasn't given any indication of sexuality after 2012. I've always found this weird though bc he fairly often references men and their attractiveness or his idolization of them (specifically captain America). I get that noting physical features is not the same as sexual attraction and that this isn't as blatant as Dan's references to men but I still see this as slight allusions to being queer. This is also a little different than shippers thinking Phil's not straight bc he's with dan, I'm approaching this as what would nonshippers or casual viewers conclude. What do y'all think?Of course I don't mean to be too controversial or to assume too much.

I just remembered my thought about the cup was to wash it cos it had been sitting outside. Is that meant to mean you want to take care of someone? Hmm. Also I'm amused to think that before I became a Deps fan my biggest celeb crush was Chris Evans (and John Green) so I'm tickled to share Phil's taste in men (give or take using him as a replacement for Dan). I didn't notice in the video how wide-eyed and pretty Phil looked (concentrating on the story I guess), but I can see it now thanks to Tumblr gifs. He just keeps on glowing.

I think it depends who the casual viewer is. If I watched half of what he posts as a casual viewer I would assume he wasn't straight, but if, god forbid, I was straight I would probably take it as a joke and assume he was straight
