Looking through instagram I'm thinking it could be the other side of left-hand truck in this photo, which says TATINOF on it? Although tbh I don't recall anyone mentioning there being a truck with a tour ad on it either
The video itself was okay, I appreciate that they're not pretending that it's a fantastic game and acknowledged being given a bunch of coins/gems by the developers to speed stuff up.
Very intrigued by the fursona naming choice, particularly as later breeding fursona (=Dan?) with phil seemed a bit weirdly suggestive..?
Thank goodness they didn't play it up to be anything it isn't. It's a carbon-copy of Dragon City. Which is fine. Whatever. Just don't expect me to be in any way interested in the game.
I remember the truck being photographed and discussed - but no-one was surprised, as there was other Monster Legends #spon elsewhere (M&G Backdrops etc)
The fursona thing kind of struck me as reaching for content for the vid, tbh. Nothing more, nothing less.

While I like that D&P don't pretend to love something they are clearly just doing for the sweet spon money I have to admit if I was the company and had approval I'd have sent that back for a re-shoot if they wanted me to pay them.

Okay admittedly I personally was never going to download that game no matter how hard they tried to sell it but still I'm definitely not going to after the lackluster sales pitch they just delivered. I suppose the phandom allows them the luxury of being able to put no effort into spon when they don't want to because some will download it anyway (regardless of the fact I'm not even sure D&P were actually trying to sell it to them).

Despite this post I don't actually mind the spon stuff when it infrequent like it is with D&P. When it get to a point where I feel the main purpose of a youtubers channel is just them trying to sell me stuff then I unsubscribe but I don't mind a video here and there.

That's the upside to the ASA guidelines these days - you have to give a realistic overview of the product, and clearly label it as advertising - including if you've been given extra content/similar (gems/money)
So a great big cynical "Job Well Done" to for that!

Oh god... I JUST realised they asked people to suggest names for stuff, didn't they? Fuckdammit, we're getting more than one vid on this.

Maybe is a 3 videos ad deal?
I'm okay if the post 2 normal gaming videos in the week before the new ad.

I like the video, not the game, but the video was okay, lots of innuendos and I have to stop it to laugh twice

Well, that was boring af for me. I can't decide if I think that they didn't really try at all (aka what pearshaped34 said) or they did try but just failed to interest me and were bound to fail from the beginning because I personally have no interest in games like these (kind of what stella said?). Either way, meh. Won't rewatch, barely watched the whole thing this one time.

I agree with those of you who suggested that they probably posted so frequently recently at least partly in order to sneak in the #spon without the shitstorm that it's all they're ever doing. However I see nothing wrong in that, I actually really like the way they did that. Yeah, it's quite apparent but it doesn't mean it isn't also a little bit smart. It shows some degree of respect for the viewers and an awareness that we won't lap the spon up if it isn't surrounded by something more interesting. It may be a calculated move but if it means that I got plenty of nonspon I actually enjoyed in the process then I'm a satisfied and I can happily overlook one lacklaster video. Had they posted nothing for 3 weeks and then dropped this video I would be totally pissed, let me tell you.

That being said, I'm not sure I'll be able to sit through part2 of this

I haven't watched the video yet, but I don't really care that it's spon. The last time they did spon on the gaming channel was 6 months ago, which is pretty long especially compared to most youtubers.
Re: content. I find their content a bit above average. As it's been lacking lately, it's still (usually) different than most youtubers. Like ISG is frequent like storytime, but at least it's original and not storytime or a tag.

Another shitty spon for those super awful mobile games.

Though idk if I'm reaching but when Phil inferred that they wouldn't breed with eachother, am I the only one that thought he was referring to "breeding" as it is normally used in gay sex jargon when
there is unprotected sex between two men with the purpose of ejaculating inside each other?

I agree with this to some extent and it is quite smart of them, BUT it does rub me up the wrong way a little when I realise it takes them wanting to cash in on a spon just to release a decent amount of content over a period of time. If only that could be the norm.

I would say I think the quality on DAPG has been really good recently and the first half of this video reminded me of darker times. Around the half way mark, however, it picked up and they even managed to make a shitty spon video pretty cute and funny in that second half.

Overall: B-, could be better, could be worse. If content levels drop off a cliff having got this done, I'll be salty.

why would you say that? :( :(
phil made me google "pigs mating". i love learning new things
The Mount

When the boar has successfully wooed the sow who is in heat, she will stand still and allow him to mount her. He will jump up and place his front legs on her back. He may need to scoot sideways to get directly behind her into mating position. His front legs hold on to the sow just in front of her hips once he is in position.

The Wait

Boars can take up to 30 minutes to ejaculate. During this time, the boar remains mounted on the sow occasionally thrusting. She may graze and take occasional steps forward until he is finished and slides or jumps off.
i am gonna go play Best Fiends now

Random thoughs of the random nature about the very random video I not so randomly loved:

- man, so the strategy seems "let's disctract everyone from the fact that this is a game we've basically already done on this channel by giving them nearly everything they want?"
- but boy, do I knot care
- LOVED it. like way loved it
- because yeah, the game seems shitty, but as far as selling a truly shitty game goes, you can't go much better than that, if at all
- because the video is fun, they're fun, they seem to have fun with it - so by an extention, the game almost looks fun, too. like I wanna have pun-offs with a soulmate and talk about pissing and furry breeding. you know. bucket list stuff.
- so yeah, no wonder social point showered them with cash (and damn, sponning the tour must have been a fucking meaty amount), I would, too
- I feel like this video was filled with moments where they could have reasonably gone "nope we're not a thing duh what are you thinking" - and yet, they didn't. not once. the silence instead of the denial felt rather deliciously satisfying.
- like dan's morning hair (did anyone else except a not so random "when you come out of your room"?), like the breeding (did anyone else expect a more "we would never" rather than "we cannot produce eggs"?), like casually agreeing (both of them! together!! man oh man) that neville longbottom grew up rather shag-worthy & accompanying it with a pic of him, too?
- phil would lay the egg. discuss.
- (don't really, please :D)
- i got such couple-y vibes off of the beginning when they discussed phil's health while casually trying to get people to watch the newest pokémon go vid. like the whole "sure you're healthy look at you cough you cannot fool me back in bad right after we're done filming"
- (residue guilt from letting him catch his plague?)
- man. really. all of it was just so nice and fun and easy and sure, not groundbreaking, but just what i needed after tonight

I understand this sentiment BUT I try to remind myself that a) I don't really know that this spon is the only or even the main motivation for why they've made more videos recently I just suspect it's quite high up on the list
and b) even if this was in fact the only motivation it wouldn't be something morally wrong in my books so it wouldn't spoil all the enjoyable content that I recently got (probably) thanks to this.

So what I'm trying to say is that for a few hot seconds I did have the same thought as you but I actively pushed it away because I came to the conclusion that in this particular case pros (enjoyable videos) outweigh possible cons (motivation questions).
Lurktacularr wrote:Overall: B-, could be better, could be worse. If content levels drop off a cliff having got this done, I'll be salty.
Oh, totally. Should've mentioned that but forgot. If they stop with the content influx now, then all my "pros outweigh cons" and "I'm actively trying to find positives in this" spiel will be out the window faster than you could say "content drought"

Holy shit, just when you think that Monster Legends video they had to do is never gonna materialize, they drop it out of nowhere. Explains all the activity on DAPG, it wasn't because they started caring again or anything but they know just how to play us. Clever boys. Still don't like your #spon for shitty games, but anything for that tour that you're also making another book about. You bastards better get a nice ass MANSION with glass walls and a koi pond out of this. Anyway, not that I had high expectations for this but even as a sales pitch this was bad. They were obviously not into it and kept making fun of things in the game... I don't think Socialpoint will care though, no matter what they're getting exposure and many viewers are gonna download it anyway. I wouldn't be pleased with name dropping Pokémon in an ad for my game though.

- Phil's eyes look very green today. Is it because of the shirt?
- Dan looks legit dead inside when announcing the game they were playing. Look at those dead eyes.
- Fisting jokes. Keep your kinks in the hotel rooms with seperate beds boys.
- 'Red Tiger Nuts, that's what you like to eat isn't it?' Wow Phil stop trying to out Dan.
- Dan you're a bad boyfriend for not knowing whether grandpa Bert is still alive.
- Fursona. Dan you fucking furry.
- I guessed Pandalf. It wasn't that hard. Nor was it funny.
- 'We should do some breeding.' 'Not us...' Stop disappointing me.
- ..Phil and Fursona are gonna breed. Still sounds like Phan to me. :thumb:
- I don't think popping out an egg is any better than a baby...
- I'm so bored when is this ending?
- Please tell me Dan did not just howl... Omg he did. Furry.
- Even the battles in this game are boring.
- The trashcan bit is so fake :') Aside from it being too much of a coincidence, there's an obvious jumpcut there and if you look at the screen Dan's hand suddenly moves away from the iPad while it previously wasn't there.
- I didn't hate this video... but it was still bad and I'm glad it's over.

Lol Dan seemed so done with everything right from the beginning. I like how transparent they were about the spon and how shitty the game is.

The only notable moments for me were:
1:10 - fisting dan is fisting
2:13 - dan not so subtly dissing dragon city lol
2:54 - "that's what you like to eat isn't it?"
3:47, 4:24 - dan, please.
4:36 - pee.
7:13 - fun fact: Xochiquetzal is the name of a goddess in Aztec mythology
9:10 - "we should do some breeding"...."not us...the monsters"...."lay an egg Phil"
9:27 - phil breeding with fursona...wow totally didn't see that coming
10:05 - I love how phil automatically makes dan the other parent. fursona=dan confirmed.
10:40 - more sass from dan lol. "Now if we're taking this seriously, which apparently we are"
13:16 - full health on the fursona
14:32 - glo up

I would've added more moments with Dan being sarcastic but I got bored timestamping lol.

That was kinda cute, but also felt like it strayed with cynicism and sounding like they're just taking the mick. I know Phil said he got into Animal Crossing and Crossy Road a few years ago, but this felt so forced, the Dragon City ones less so, but then I've also had a weird day.

They also both needed to go to bloody bed, which won't have helped that at all. Phil's eyes were so bright they literally matched his tshirt, I've never seen them so green as if they're actually reflecting the colour of it.

Very glad they were so upfront with the spon and being given a ton of game currency. Not overly looking forward to another, or two, of these, but touring costs and their other videos lately have been good.

I was amused by them breeding fursona and phil, I took Dan giving the wolf that name to mean that was him ingame, maybe that's not what he meant, but I didn't overly enjoy this otherwise so sod it

It kinda rubs me the wrong way too, but I suppose it's better than nothing

Normally I don't mind spons that much, but I found this video super boring. Suppose it's just their true feelings about the game coming out.
Did Dan get a haircut? It looks like he got his sides shaved shorter

Edit: Also, from the tags of the video:
"thanks for the tour soon"
"what a beautiful truck it was"
"and so necessary to transport things"
Do you think it's supposed to say "spon" and Dan just can't type?

I didn't mind the spon at all. If that dragon city/monsters company sponsored the American tour and hopefully the soon to come European tour (pleaaaase ), it's only fair they do videos for them. Do you think DP are being paid for the videos additionally to the tour spon? I understood it as the videos being a repay for the tour sponsoring but you all seem to think they are cashing on it too.
Anyways since I wasn't expecting a video for quite some time, that was a nice surprise even if the game is shit blablabla. I actually think that their sarcastic, even condescending approach is actually a good advert for the game. Like everyone knows it is a shitty app game, thats why people play it and that's why it is so addictive.

That said there were a few moments where I just wanted to slap them. Like when Phil said "we should do some breeding... not us... the monsters" like yeah we get it you embracing phan now and such innuendos lololol. Dunno why it pissed me off so much.
Dan clearly wanting Phil to breed with Fursona was quite cool tho.
If you’re attracted to somebody, you’ll want them to sniff you eventually - Dan
*Phil is turned on by Dan's brilliance* *they kiss* *they have sex in the microwave* - Oqua (actually Phil)

That made me laugh out loud. Could I maybe possibly use this in my signature? The main feeling behind your post seems to be disgruntlement (soz if I misinterpreted that). I don't think I share it with you BUT the whole post was hilarious nevertheless and provided me with more entertainment than deppy did tonight.
And I don't mean it in a condescending way. I mean it in a "I like reading funny and well-written opinions even if they don't fully agree with mine because I like language and I like reading" way.

Useless post is useless, I know. But realistically, what more can I say about the video itself?

Like I said in the post I didn't hate the video but... aside from a few giggle worthy moments it just wasn't good. I'm not really a hater of #spon content, if either the product is interesting OR the video is done really well. But this was neither so yeah

OC I like the boys playing games, and I don't mind the #spon at all. I do mind the games themselves however, just not my style. The only mobile game I like at all is Pokemon Go, and it's glitchy af. Give me a PC FPS any day - or GW2. Full disclosure: I'm getting slaughtered in the Battlefield 1 public beta today, and I'm down to my underwear in GW2 - I'm such a noob in those games.

To clarify: I don't mind spon videos at all. In fact I almost give them a free pass to be bang average because the boys haven't really picked what they're playing (not truly) and have some boxes to tick. I say this because I fully support them getting that bank because I like them and want them to do well.

My point was it rubs me up the wrong way a bit that it takes a spon video for them to actually produce regular content on that channel just to dilute it. No, we can't be sure that's what it is, but they have a history of this pattern.

Do the pros outweigh the cons? Probably. Am I gonna continue to soak up the spon-padding? Absolutely.

In the context of them doing what I consider the bare minimum to maintain their channels as of late (DAPG actually suffering the least, main channels being the true culprits), does the ulterior motive still annoy me a bit? You betcha.

Hey ho. It is what it is. Not losing any sleep or love for them over it.

They are. In the description it says "thanks for sponsoring this video and our USA tour!" and at the beginning of the video it says "paid promotion for Social Point Games" in the upper lefthand corner.

To play Deppy's Advocate for a bit, not that I don't kind of love the Slytherin-esque vibe everyone's getting from them (and yeah, if you gotta do spon, it's better to not just do spon), I've yet to be convinced they plan this far ahead with their gaming channel. I think it's also possible they're just giant procrastinators (the video was for what, sponsoring the USA tour? that's been over for quite some time now) who might have just only now found themselves with time to settle some old debts.

They're posting more videos now cause they've made time to film more videos, and that also means they've finally begrudgingly forced themselves to settle this particularly boring debt.

But the whole "sometimes, there's a lot of content all at once, sometimes, there's really annyoing dry-spells" thing suggests, to me, that they're bad at planning ahead rather than they're master-schemers as far as uploading schedules go.

It could be a bit of both, too, in the end.

Though I suppose at some point, this needs to be a Choose Your Own Advanture anyway, cause we don't really have a way of knowing.

(Not that I love this, I think even just spreading the content out more evenly could have helped the drought of the US tour, sometimes, we'd have several videos a week, and then there'd be weeks with nothing at all.)
